The greatest warriors in history have been summoned to a land beyond our own… a mysterious kingdom where the only way to survive is to FIGHT! But how did they get there, and why?
Thousands of years ago, portals were built on wellsprings of pure Battle Power throughout the vast Wildlands…
Aligned with the four elements, (Water, Fire, Earth and Air), the portals infused all those who passed through them with great power. They also provided instant transportation throughout the Wildlands, and even to different realms and dimensions. A mighty empire overseen by four Elemental Lords ruled the Wildlands. These wise Lords used the portals to spread peace throughout the realm.
But then a mysterious entity (known as the Darkness) entered the Wildlands though a portal, wreaking havoc and disharmony.
War raged but the Elemental Lords combined their powers to defeat the Darkness. They imprisoned it in the Wildforge, which they buried deep within Mount Shadowshard. Although victorious the Lords were now weakened.
The land was shattered and people had grown suspicious of the ancient portals and their power. Realising their reign was over, the Lords decided to leave the Wildlands.
The Lords appointed loyal, stoic warriors called Gatemen to guard the ancient routes of the Wildlands. The Lords then departed through the portals, sealing all of them shut forever... EXCEPT ONE – an obscure portal known as the Temple of Epics.
This portal was left open in case the inhabitants of the Wildlands ever needed to summon warriors, weapons and items from a place known as Earth. But it could only be opened by those who had earned the respect of their peers (and enough Friendstones) or those who had performed valiant deeds (and enough Wildstones).
Centuries later, an evil warrior priest from Earth (10,000 BC) stumbled through this forgotten portal and entered the Wildlands infused with Battle Power!
Thanks to a legend stating that Shadowshard ‘would one day shatter but not by the hand of men from the Wildlands,’ the warrior priest manipulated superstitious Wildlanders and seized power, proclaiming himself King Boneshaker.
A brave young man called Kalaban stood in his way, and a great struggle ensued. During an almighty showdown Boneshaker killed Kalaban’s bride to be (a warrior princess from Earth who was dragged through the portal by Boneshaker). Infused with Battle Power and totally enraged, Kalaban attacked Boneshaker. The two nearly destroyed each other in a terrible battle. Injured, distraught and pursued by the enemy, Kalaban fled to the shores of Cloud Lake to meditate. Boneshaker crawled away to the caves under Mount Shadowshard, to recuperate and build a new army.
Now Boneshaker has arisen! Corrupted by the Darkness that infects Shadowshard, he has started smashing the seals on the Portals and is searching for the power of the Elemental Lord.
He wants to control this power of the Elements for himself and release the Darkness trapped deep within Shadowshard. With Kalaban’s help you must use the one remaining portal (The Temple of Epics) to summon an army of mighty Warriors from Earth and lead them against King Boneshaker and his Skull Army.
