My new best friend in the kitchenSince it has arrived my multi cooker hasn't been put away, it now has a permanent spot in our somewhat tiny kitchen but it is totally my new best friend in the kitchen.
I had an old rice cooker and I hadn't realised how it must have deteriorated over the years until I cooked rice in this one, admittedly the multi cooker takes longer but it's a world apart, the rice was delicious, I mean really, I'd forgotten how just how tasty well cooked rice can be.
So that was my first experiment, rice cooking, check, next up was slow cooking...
We're not a stew household, a good curry suits more and I've cooked a multitude of curries in it now (there's a Malaysian curry cooking as I type). They always come out tasty and the meat falls apart, added bonus of being able to use cheaper cuts as they get so tender too!
The facility to be able to cook onions and curry pastes etc off in the bowl before adding the other ingredients is brilliant as I only need this one thing out, no making a mess of other pots and pans when you want to be organised for later. You can also use the same function at the end to simmer down your sauce a bit to thicken it if need be but I haven't needed to do this yet, I always reduce my liquid quantities by a third and everything's come out great so far.
It's all very easy to clean and I find the controls fairly easy to navigate, once you've used it a few times you'll sail through it.
I love this machine, my dinner is ready for later, no mess and no washing up :)

Multicooker /Meals on wheelsThe Multicooker 21850 its very stylish and has a nice clean design. The black gloss look also fits right in with all my other black gloss appliances within the kitchen. After reading the instructions i firstly tried out a simple meal, which was stew. I browned the meat and onions for 20 mins followed by stewing all the veg and meat after for a hr. While the meat was browning this gave me time to prepare all the veg and clean up after myself and not having to worry about running back and forth to the cooker to stop the meat from sticking to the usual frying pan and getting fat sprayed all over my cooker. Once the meat browned i throw all the other bits in pan set it on stew for a hr and left it. The house filled with such a lovely smell while it was cooking away, then about 10 mins before it was due to end i put the dumpling in to give them time to rise. The food came out pipping hot and just right , even two and half hrs later after i turned the multicooker off the food was still warm enough, so once my daughter came back from Club she asked for some more and its saved me having to warm it up. Just as i think it can't get and better i remembered it has a handle on the multicooker as well as a lock to save any spillage when in transport , so when i need to i can take the multi cooker with the meal hot and all cooked to my elderly Grandad this saves him having to cook for one and ensures he gets a good heartily meal inside him. Due to me making a big batch of stew we had the meal the following day so i put it on slow cooker for 8 hrs, by the time i come home the food was all nice an hot. Cleaning the item was so easy no hassel no fuss. I Would highly recommend this item to anyone its easy to use, easy to clean, ideal for large families. Already have family members impressed and wanting to borrow this item and the odd hint to come round for meals.

Stylish Addition to my Kitchen.Being a busy Mum I decided to experiment as others have and try a slow cooker. I opted for this model as it does a lot more than slow cook. I'm not sure I will actually get around to using all 11 functions but great to know they are there if I need them. Great addition to my kitchen visually and after a few practices with the slow cooker setting, I can say I am impressed. The large 5 Litre capacity is great and handy for a large family or for saving some for another day. The 'Keep Warm' function is great and has come in handy on a couple of occasions already. I like the overall look of my Multi cooker and people visiting my house have been intrigued and wanted one for themselves! Excited to try more of the functions and hopefully I will be impressed with them too.

Slow cooker and moreThis multi-cooker is slick in appearance and the digital screen looks funky. I won't be able to leave it on the work surface in the kitchen as it is quite large so it will need to go away in a cupboard when not in use - which I fear means I will forget I have this appliance and not use it enough! I attempted a sausage casserole first - initially I was going to put it on timer and set it to cook an hour before I got home from work but I couldn't fathom the clock and buttons, so just left it till I came home from work. I didn't brown the meat and veg as instructed, I just threw it in with the sauce, put an hour on the clock and let the delicious cooking smell take over the kitchen. Once the hour was up, it went into the 'keep warm' mode and even half an hour later when I plated up, the food was piping hot (and tasty). Once cooled, it was easy to remove the bowl for cleaning, gave the rest of the cooker a quick wash down and that was the job done. I can't wait to try some of the suggested recipes and think the steamer function will come in very handy. The only down side I see is getting used to the touch screen and buttons but the more I use it, the easier it will get I'm sure. I think for the money this is worth buying and will make things easier when I'm trying to cook for larger numbers when I have limited oven space.

Fabulous kitchen productThis multi cooker looked exciting as soon as I opened the box. It's stylish, and the colour is an up to the minute cream. You wouldn't want to put this cooker in a cupboard it needs to sit on a worktop on view. The other reason you wouldn't want it put away is that it has so many functions you need it handy.
I haven't had time yet to try out all the functions but what I have tried have been so easy. The obvious main difference is when you are making a casserole or using it as a slow oven the meat and onions can be heated and softened in the oven and then you just press a couple of buttons and it switches to the main cooking. No other pan necessary.
I'm looking forward to trying all the other programmes I.e. Rice cooking, baking, steaming and the many others.
This is a real classy piece of equipment which I would definitely recommend.

Multi CookerLove this appliance it looks so impressive with it's led lighting and the compact housing which is so clean looking. The handle is a good idea as it makes it easy to move without getting hold of the housing. The cooker as 11 functions but I have only managed to use 2 so far but really pleased with the bread and stew that I made. The 5 litre pot means you can cook for a family and if one arrives later it as a keep warm feature so no one is disappointed. I liked the anti condensation lid feature After use it's so easy to clean with it's non stick cooking pot and when finished it will look good on any worktop

Multicooker 21850having considered a 'slow cooker' for some time, but unsure if I would get good value for money, I opted for the multicooker on the assumption that if it wasn't used as a slow cooker, I could use it for other things instead.
the first thing I cooked was a beef casserole, I followed the instructions to the letter that were on the packet of 'slow cook casserole mix' I obtained from my local supermarket, and hit the 'one touch' slow cook 8hr timer button and went to work!
not 100% convinced we wouldn't be having beans on toast for tea that night, I couldn't wait to get home. my key went in the front door and the smell hit me.... WOW - what can I say... it pretty much looked just like the picture on the box. absolutely perfect, cooked to perfection. if I never use this appliance for anything other that a slow cooker - I'm one happy customer. everything else it does it just a bonus.

Looks good but looks can be deceiving . Total RUBBISHI used to think that Russel Hobbs were a good brand. I purchased this slow cooker on 31 Jan 15 it did not work so was replaced today 1 Feb15 and guess what it did appear to work ie the programmes were able to run BUT and i mean BUT these programmes did not cook as they should have . The rice programme did not wotk at all it stuck to the pan , so after cleaning it and letting it cool down I tried the porridge programme , well what can i say ive never used a cooker that took oats and made them into water . Very very disappointed it is going back for a full refund tomorrow . In fairness the slow cook does have some things going for it . It appears to be well built and it looks good but it does not in anyway do what it says on the box. I have only been able to give it a low score of one star , if I was able to give it minus stars I would, if your thinking of buying DON,T
