nice looking jacket, but the fat ties don't tie at the front without making a huge bulky knot, and don't sit flat at the back; they are so wide that when you try and tie them in a knot, or a bow, the result is a huge lump that sticks out and looks ridiculous. I'm going to have to sew the ties in place with a flat knot of some kind, but the bow shown on the picture on the asda website isn't possible in real life unless you're a fashion stylist. material for the ties needs to be rethought. This isn't a wrap jacket, nor even a side-tie jacket, nice idea but it's neither one thing nor the other! When fastened with the hook and eye, it still gapes, and I'm quite slim.

Rated 2 out of 5 Jacket with an identity crisis
I really love 'Barbara Hulanicki for George' range. I've got quite a few pieces and will continue to buy them. The sizing so far had been consistent (all my stuff has been in size 8 and fitted perfectly and the quality very good, with skillful cutting.
But oh dear, this jacket has a rather odd design, and the measurements don't make sense. I don't know whose measurements this was based on, or whether it's just *my* jacket, or a design issue, but something isn't right.
As the jacket is mainly black, it is hard to properly see the details from the image on Asda's site, but basically the cut is perfect on the upper half, then it all goes out of whack from the bust down. It is described as a 'wrap' jacket, but it never could wrap, as my jacket only measures about 28-30 inches around the HIP!!
There is a flimsy hook just below the bustline, then the front edges of the jacket splay out, go their separate ways and gape apart. Even more strangely, there is a tie belt sewn into the side seams at the waist, so when you tie it, there is a gap behind it where the centre fronts don't meet - they never could, as I doubt that many size 8 women have 28 inch hips!
This is not a good look.
I almost returned it, but liked it otherwise - fortunately I can sew, so I kept it, removed the belt and hook, and used the material from the belt to make a bow that fastens the front together under the bustline like a pin brooch. The jacket still doesn't meet at the waist and hips, but at least now it looks as though it's intentional.
If mine wasn't just a rogue jacket, this really needs to be sorted, or I feel you're going to get a lot of returns.

Nice jacket but does not wrap. There is an annoying gap in the front but it is a great style and enhances your shape.

This jacket is quiet simply stunning. The material is jersey type. There is a hook fastening & belt to keep jacket closed.
I've worn with all black & it's so striking!
Total bargin - thank you Asda
