Why we love this
The Number Loving Oven is full of fun surprises that nourish number sense. Little ones can move the number slider to practice number recognition, learn about cooking times (“5! This might come out extra crispy!”) and temperature (“3—Medium. Medium is a great choice.”). They are encouraged to cut food into 2, 3 or 4 equal pieces to build maths skills, and they can press the chef’s hat to learn and count along to lively songs. In every case, the maths is baked into a real-world skill such as cooking and sharing—helping little ones see how maths transfers to everyday life.
So many ways to play and learn!
With 16 ingredients and loads of fun features, the Number Loving Oven lets little ones explore in their own unique way. Open and close the oven door to activate responses about cooking and sharing. Fry an egg in the pan - and hear real sizzle sounds! Bake bread, a pizza or cupcakes on the baking tray. Count down with the timer until it dings, and see the light blink off when the food is ready to eat. Number Loving Oven is made for sharing, too. Little ones can divide the pre-sliced food onto two plates to share a meal with a friend or parent.
Fun with their favourite characters!
Feed toddlers’ appetite for fun with a cheeky singing pal! The Number Loving Oven is big on personality, nurturing giggles with fun rhymes and phrases such as “Hot, hot, hot, hot!”, “Okie dokie, you’re the chef!” and “This pizza has 4 pieces. One for you and 3 for me!” Whether cooking alone or with friends, little ones will have a warm and wonderful companion.>
Learning experts create every learning experience!
Early number learning is about much more than identifying numbers. Toddlers are developing number sense—an understanding of concepts such as relative value, which are fundamental to future maths learning. Designed by LeapFrog educational experts, the Number Loving Oven nourishes this foundational learning by helping children connect the numbers 1 to 5 on the slider with low, medium and high temperature settings, as well as shorter and longer cooking times. Phrases about sharing help children develop a sense of dividing into equal parts and parts that make up a whole. By integrating these concepts into engaging play, the Number Loving Oven offers a fun and easy way to prepare children for preschool and beyond.
From counting and cooking to serving and sharing, it’s preschool prep for little chefs. With 16 fun ingredients and 30+ songs and phrases, little ones will cook up hours of fun, with number learning baked in!
