LEGO Technic - Rally Car - 42077 is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cool Car! Found this surprisingly looking for the Mack Anthem. Somehow missed this set watching the pre-release videos. Got to say this is one cool car. Thing is SUPER wide! It's probably 2 inches wider than the AROCS truck. Very cohesive build. Looks really good. Nothing fancy, just a nice looking set. Cool mid engine V-6 design. Full independent suspension, and a trick trunk opening mechanism.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Had a blast building it, wish it was awd... I enjoyed the minimal stickers, most were large. The little things like the roll cage, fire extinguisher, pilot and navigator names, the way the rear hatch and wheel wells opened up to access the motor. I love a challenge and the reward and this set pleased.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A fun model with a great rack (Suspension) I purchased this originally as I thought the car body could be motorized. It turns out thatI will be keeping the suspension intact as it is possibly the best part of this model. I put it together and was amazed at the detail put in to the suspension. The car goes together with no major surprises, but it has some amazing functionality that I did not expect. The suspension and shock absorbers actually allow the car to lean and take bumps properly. The car screams motorize me and I am going to do just that. I am going to try and put a simple L motor in it with a servo motor for steering. The IR and battery box should fit in if I remove the fan under the hood. It looks good, the stickers really work on this one. The color scheme stands out, but it is missing a lot of advertisements which would be on a real rally or race car. Both the hood and back are able to be opened up and show off the internal details, which was a nice touch. The steering seems to be unnecessarily limited as a real rally car can turn its wheels a lot more than this one does. All in all a fun build, and a tremendous design. Whoever you were, thank you, I have had a lot of fun on this model.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A great lego set! The first thing I noticed about this set is the bold colour scheme. I'm sure some won't like it, but I think it is a good change. Also, the suspension does a great job, especially in the rear where it travels a great distance. On the other hand, it is strange how a rally car does not have four wheel drive, and the lack of any new, exciting functions is disappointing. I am also surprised that there isn't a single powered technic set this first half of the year. Still, it is cool how small panels flare out in front of the rear wheels when you lift the engine cover at the back! In conclusion, I think it is a good set for those who aren't looking for a big challenge, but want a good sized model. I would recommend it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Challenging but Fun! I purchased this kit because the suspension got my attention. This set was challenging as I have never tackled a kit of this size, This thing is HUGE! The suspension is more simple than I thought at first but not to easy. The steering is really nice and the opening hood, doors, and rear hatch let a lot of light in if your trying to look in there! The V-6 is awesome, it is up to scale, the seats and steering wheel however are not. The steering knob on top does not protrude and is perfect! The stickers are realistic and I love that it has driver names. Over all this set is one of the best Lego kits I've ever had. Fabulous job Lego!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ready for an upgrade? As a rally car should this be 4 wheel drive? Yes. As a LEGO car of this scale should it have a gearbox? Totally. Are there parts of the design (such as the seats) that feel only part finshed? Absolutely. Does any of this matter? No, definitely not! In the greatest tradition of LEGO this set just makes me want to to make all these modifications. There are now (and have been) much more technically complex and what I would consider more complete sets, but with this set LEGO look like they have deliberately created a set that has a lot of room for modification. This is a good thing. Don’t get me wrong - the set itself doesn’t need anything else doing if you don’t want to, but there is so much scope for upgrade if you want to. I think LEGO have this set absolutely spot on - it is awesome as it is, and keeping it this “simple” LEGO have also made it much more accessible financially. Some of the other current sets are eye-wateringly expensive - full marks to LEGO for realising there is a place for sets like this. I look forward to seeing more sets made with a similar ethos.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome car This is an awesome set!! It closely represents real rally cars and I like how if you roll it fast the pistons will make a rumble! Another thing I like is how many pieces that were originally in the Porsche are in this set. The front suspension includes two pieces from the Porsche and there are two gear shifters (also from the Porsche) are used for esthetics! The only down side is that it is not easy to motorize. And when I did get it motorized it was too heavy to go fast. Even with the extra large motor! Lego needs to make more remote control friendly sets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good set I have started building a few of the technic set and really enjoyed this one. It's a good size piece (like the other technic sets) and, if you so choose, can be played with, although mine is specifically for display. The details are pretty cool (there is a fire extinguisher in the cockpit) although I wish they would expand the motor line, kind of tired of building the same motor for each of them. The color scheme is pretty good and the stickers aren't overtly garish.
