Why we love this

Code-a-pillar inspires little learners to be big thinkers by encouraging preschoolers to arrange (and rearrange) the easy-to-connect segments in endless combinations, sending Code-a-pillar on his path. This learning toy encourages experimentation while developing important skills like problem solving, planning & sequencing and critical thinking. There's no end to the combinations kids can make - mix up the segments and put them back together to send Code-a-pillar™ in a different direction every time! Where can you make him go next?

Every time kids change and rearrange his segments, Code-a-pillar takes a different path. Every time - with cool sounds and lights wherever he goes! Includes 1 sound segment, 3 straights, 2 right turns and 2 left turns to send the learning fun in endless directions! Kids can even configure the segments to make Code-a-pillar™ reach targets they set up throughout the room. Code-a-pillar is one of the new Think & Learn toys from Fisher-Price that goes beyond ABCs and 123s to help children learn how to think independently.

Each toy fosters 21st century skills like curiosity, experimentation and problem solving in ways kids haven't seen before. They're engaged in hands-on, open-ended discovery that helps them become lifelong learners.

Our customers say

Fisher-Price Think & Learn Code-a-pillar is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great learning toy We purchased this for our children whose ages range from 1 to 6 years of age. All of them took an interest in playing with this toy. From just connecting the pieces to actually coding the movement. It is appropriate for a wide age range and learning abilities.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really clever Purchased for a 4 yr old who is getting used to it. The batteries last for a good while. It follows direction well. Great introduction to coding

Rated 5 out of 5 by from FUN! I got this for my almost 4 yr old for Christmas. Both she and my almost 6 yr old LOVE it. My youngest says what she wants the trajectory to be, and my eldest sticks the sections together to try and make it there. There is a bit of trial and error but that’s part of the learning, and I love watching them figure out what they need to change to make the code-a-pillar hit its mark! They play with it almost daily still a few weeks later! It helps that the code-a-pillar is really cute and makes cute noises, so they don’t care that they are learning coding!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Noisy Fun Great to keep little minds busy. About 20 minutes and it was abandoned. Not sure how long the batteries will last though. Shame the volume couldn’t be turned down/off.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Educational and fun! I love the idea behind this toy. My boys aged almost 2 and just turned 4 both enjoyed this. My youngest loves watching it move across the room by itself, the lights, the music. My 4year old understand that we can make it move differently depending on which way we place the pieces together. The pieces are very easy to slot together an he enjoys trying different variations. He is not old enough to play it using the start finish markers, but I think this will come with time. A lovely educational toy. I do think it could move on to the next direction faster tho, because as it stands, you need a very big open space to allow this to work properly, as it can't bump into anything on it's path. This is all part of the challenge too tho so not the worst thing. Maybe this could be resolved if each direction was just a little shorter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic toy My daughter is 3 years old and absolutely loves the code-a-pillar. It’s great to have a toy that she enjoys playing with and learning too. She loves trying different combinations to make the code-a-pillar go different ways. The lights also make it fun to do in a dark room. Would definitely recommend and we’ve already told a few of our friends with children especially those with girls looking for a more gender neutral toy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fab fun & educational My Grandson was so excited to receive this, he loved changing the sections to see what happened next. He also loved telling his Daddy who is a computer programmer that he could tell the code-a-pillar what to do by changing the sections. The lights are lovely and bright which makes it very inviting, also the tunes are at a great volume, not to low not too high. Great to know that add ons can be purchased to allow the toy to make different sequences. It's played with everyday and his 1 year old brother loves to watch and giggles when it suddenly changes direction. A great hands on educational and fun toy. Thanks Fisher Price!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Lovely Learning Toy Both my nearly 3 year old and 5 year old are mesmerised by the Code-a-pillar! With fun sounds, flashing lights and motion to entertain the youngest and the experimental, coding element to engage the eldest - it really is a lovely ‘grow with me’ learning toy! It takes some trial and error to get the Code-a-pillar from A to B, but that’s the aim of the toy and the little people have had great fun experimenting with the segments to create a variety of paths. Lots of giggles when Code-a-pillar bumps into furniture. Only negative is that there is no volume control, so the sound is super loud! But overall, the children are thrilled with their new friend :)
