Ratings & Reviews Policy

Asda partners with software provider Bazaarvoice who collect, moderate, and display genuine customer reviews in accordance with their Authenticity Policy.

1. Why We Have This Policy

We love hearing from our customers. Your feedback helps others make informed decisions and helps us improve our products and services. To keep our reviews helpful, honest, and trustworthy, we’ve put together a few simple guidelines.

We’re committed to a transparent and reliable review system. This Policy explains what’s allowed, what’s not, and how we manage reviews to ensure they’re fair, authentic, and in line with consumer protection laws.

2. No Fake Reviews

We do not allow fake or misleading reviews. This includes:

  • Posting reviews for products you haven’t purchased or used.
  • Asking others to post fake reviews on your behalf.
  • Employees or suppliers reviewing their own products or those of competitors.

If a review is found to violate these rules, Bazaarvoice will remove it and your review account may be suspended.

3. Incentivised Reviews

We allow reviews where a customer has received George Rewards but only if:

  • The incentive is clearly disclosed in the review.
  • The review is honest and not influenced by the incentive.

Incentivised reviews are not otherwise permitted.

If a review is found to violate these rules, Bazaarvoice will remove it and your review account may be suspended.

4. How We Moderate Reviews

We aim to show all reviews fairly — positive or negative. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Reviews are displayed without bias.
  • We don’t hide or boost reviews based on sentiment.
  • You can report any review that seems suspicious or inappropriate.

We don’t allow reviews that include:

  • Violent or offensive content.
  • Personal information or images of children.
  • Irrelevant or copied content.
  • Links, websites, or promotional material.

We may contact you about your review or to request one after a purchase.

5. Submitting a Review

You can leave a review through our website or app, after receiving an email invitation. When writing a review, please make sure it:

  • Reflects your genuine experience.
  • Discloses any incentives you received.
  • Is original and doesn’t infringe on others’ rights.
  • Doesn’t include personal data or harmful content.

By submitting a review, you confirm that:

  • You’re the original author and own the rights to your content.
  • You waive any “moral rights” related to the content.

6. Complaints & Negative Reviews

We treat all reviews equally — good or bad. We do not:

  • Ask customers to review instead of submitting a complaint.
  • Discourage reviews after resolving a reported complaint.
  • Block negative reviews that follow our guidelines.

7. Reporting a Review

If you see a review that doesn’t follow these guidelines, you can report it using the “Report” button below the review. We’ll investigate and take action if needed.

By submitting a review, you agree to follow this Policy. We may update it from time to time to stay aligned with regulations and keep our review system fair and trustworthy.
