DescriptionA fifth of the wine was aged in American oak barrels for six months to add complexity to the flavours of this wine and hints of vanilla. This wine comes from the region of Abruzzo in central Italy, an area which stretches from the heart of the Apennine mountains in the west to the Adriatic Sea on the east. The montepulciano grapes are grown on vines which are up to 30 years old in vineyards in Citta S. Angelo in the classic region of Abruzzo.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Mozzycool Have had better Good wine for the price. Tesco are. selling a far nicer wine at £6.50 a bottle though. I personally would prefer to pay the extra for a far superior wine. In this case ,sorry Asda. 25 November 2016

Rated 5 out of 5 by Billy64 superb wine to accompany pasta and red meat At the bargain price of £5 per bottle with free delivery I ordered 6 bottles. I usually drink Malbec, Merlot or Pinotage but this Italian wine has the easy drinking well rounded properties which make it ideal for summer barbeques. I will return for further bottles when it is on offer. 05 May 2015
Rated 2 out of 5 by Happyhour Not really up to the mark! We often drink Montepulciano d'Abruzzo both as an aperitif and with meals, especially pasta. It also frequently appears as the house wine in Italian restaurants. This example fell short of our expectations so I could not recommend it. 21 April 2014
