When I first looked at this ship I really was hard pressed wanting to buy this because to me it looks more like a submarine than it does a spaceship but I finally bought it after seeing five stars for previous reviews. I would agree that it is a five star nice that Lego had several mini figures and plenty of troopers. I would have liked to have seen a larger scale and I spread the build time into two days but at one sitting you can build this in 2-3 hrs. Defiantly get this one before its discontinued.

The first impressions of this kit were less than exiting than actually getting this kit home and building it hands on. The over all build was fun and left much undone as the transporter in universe was much bigger, however the functionality and play features were well done....but I had other plans...and decided to go UCS and build a minifigure scale transporter based on the great design lego already provided.
Hands down the minifigure lineup on this kit was Awsome to say the least...so very happy to get phasma, with a small plattoon of 4, -along with the 2 resistance figures...that being said I have to say I was very happy with the value overall.
The ability to modify this set was super Fun and I managed to widen mine by 2 studs and legthen the overall build by over 20 studs..retaining the overall in universe scale taking some artistic liberties to solve some build challenges.
I highly recommend this set

I think this set is great. The play value is great and this set is also great for stop motions. It was really great to build and it didn't take long to build, only for about hour and a half, which is fine. I really like the selection of figures, the Captain Phasma figure is absolutely my favorite out of all the characters in this set. So to wrap things up the set is amazing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by legothekid1220 awesome set
it is one of the best lego sets i have ever gotten it is so cool and i you have three first order battle packs its even better but it needs a gunner and a pilot and more space i can cram in eight stormtroopers but there helmets are touching so its not relistic because a real one can hold 20 stormtroopers.but in all its moneys worth and any star wars lego fan needs this set.

The First Order Transporter is a great set. It's a solid model that accurately recreates the ship from the film and includes a fun assortment of minifigures.
For this piece count, the model is surprisingly faithful to the original. The loading ramp -- arguably the set's most important feature -- looks great, especially with the faux pistons on the inside. The mechanism is a bit clumsy, however. Instead of a knob or pulley, the ramp is operated by pushing/pulling a "stick" piece on the back, resulting in two minor gripes: The ramp is either fully open or fully closed (no in-between); and it tends to flop open when the ship is lifted. Using nested gears operated by a knob would have resulted in a smoother operating ramp that stays put, but this would have eaten up valuable real estate inside.
Speaking of which, I've heard complaints elsewhere that the ship is too short relative to the original. I suppose this is true, but it's not short by much, and I think it still looks great. However, there is just barely enough room inside for the five First Order figures and their weapons.
The knob-operated lifting seat towards the rear is a fun feature, albeit a little silly. A seated minifigure pops the hatch open with his head when the knob's turned.
The removable roof is great; nice detailing and easy to remove and put back. The clever use of horizontal fins on the outer walls looks great, as do the engines and the lights toward the front. I could live without the wheels. I see their benefit for children playing with the model, but for display purposes they're just an obstacle, and as far as I know the ship in the film didn't have wheels.
The vertical compartment on top is also faithful to the film, but feels oddly detached from the model -- I wonder if it was meant to hold a person vs. storage for supplies?
Captain Phasma is the obvious standout here. Her pearl silver finish is perfect, and her silver blaster is wonderfully unique.
The Stormtroopers look great, and the fuel tanks for the Flametroopers are cleverly built. I would have liked to see fire pieces for the front of their weapons (the same translucent orange flames used in City sets).
Mercifully, this set has very few stickers! The model is pleasantly detailed without them, even accounting for the wide sloping pieces on either side.
Priced right for this piece count and collection of minifigures.

5 bricks for this lego from me. It has everything I want my legos to have: active guns and missiles, a good size, and lots of characters [mainly Stormtroopers]. Everything it can do is easy to do, such as firing guns and opening the front so the Stormtroopers can get out. What I really like is the way you're able to play with the Stormtroopers inside and out thanks to the detachable roof in the front. The vehicle has wheels so it can move, and it can maneuver better than it looks. It's also a good way to pass the time!

Rated 4 out of 5 by TheLostTreaty Very Nice . . . Sort of Small, Though
This set is very nice. It's sleek, armored, and cleverly built. The build, as with all good sets, was addictive. I'll start with the pros:
-Great minifigures. Phasma's great, and the flame troopers are awesome.
-Pretty realistic. Very similar to the movie version.
-The functions, such as the knob on the side that brings the gunner through the top hatch.
-Small. The movie version fit 20 storm troopers, this only fits 4.
-The stud-shooters and spring-loaded missiles. In my opinion, they are just a waste of pieces -- I buy LEGOS for accuracy, and the transparent, green plastic "lasers" just seem stupid.
-Only comes with 2 first order stormtroopers. I mean, seems like LEGO could've trashed the generic resistance troopers it comes with and added another couple of stormies.
I fixed the annoying fact that the carrier only fits 4 stormies by adding four studs to the length with my own pieces. It doubled the the capacity. The only problem with that is that I had to trash the cool technic pin that you push to make the front door open, couldn't find the right length.
Over all, it's a great set, and does justice to the looming figure of the First Order Transporter.
