Why we love this

Build a beautifully detailed LEGO version of WALL-E-the last robot left on Earth! Created by Angus MacLane, animator and director at Pixar Animation Studios and selected by LEGO Ideas members, the development of this model began alongside the making of the animated character for the classic Pixar feature film.

It has taken almost a decade to perfect the LEGO version, which incorporates many authentic WALL-E characteristics, including a posable neck, adjustable head, arms that move up and down and side to side, gripping hands and rolling tracks. With a trunk that opens and closes, you can tidy up the planet one pile of garbage at a time! This set also includes a booklet about the designer and the animated Pixar movie.

Rated 5 out of 5 by First time build I am a wife of a 'LEGO Nut' so when I seen this cute little guy on the shelf at the Lego store when on holiday's in the USA I decided that I would give it a go and see what all the fuss is about.... I enjoyed the build and only made one mistake of picking the wrong colour brick and had to pull him half apart to swap it to the correct colour (which my husband thought was hilarious) but I was proud of myself being able to put him all back together again...piece of cake!! I think this set is great for all ages, great value and good fun....very cool :-) 16 October 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good fun I did this with my girlfriend ad we are both big disney and pixar fans. I saw this and had to have it. It was pretty easy to build but it was amazing when it finished 10 October 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by Wall E head is not strong enough I found the head of wall E is too heavy, it can not hold position. I heard there's a updated parts for the neck. how can I get the updated parts. 03 October 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Very Nice.., BUT! Very nice, it was a good experience for all of the family. Unfortunately the head of WALL-E is to heavy and it keep on falling down by it self, parts that need to be redesign are 2 x 4211694. 30 July 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by It captures the spirit of the character As i reviewed many reviews, i noticed how many people complain about the "neck issue". After i attached the big eyes and moved WALL-E, his head and neck tilted forward like they tend to do in the movie and i was really amazed. I got a big smile. I think this may very well be by design, the motion reminds me so much of the movie. Basically if you do not handle him with care, he will be sad. I have no problem putting him into any pose, without any fix, the joints are just stable enough. The eyes just have a tendency to sink down, and the head and neck have a tendency to tilt forward and down, but it is stable enough if you *carefully* put him on a pose. If you hit the desk on which he sits really hard or your cat (or a visitor) gets curious, he goes into the sad pose, he is fragile in that way. Fragility is also what makes the character in the movie so awesome, the WALL-E we see in the movie has that fragile side to him. The idea we get near the beginning of the movie is of a robot barely surviving, relying on fixing himself with his limited supply of spare parts. One accident that he cannot fix on his own and he is crippled or disabled forever. In contrast, EVE, the other protagonist of the movie, is virtually indestructible. So i strongly suspect that this is by design, and if it is, then it is just genious. If you have sitting him on your desk in a cheerful pose and someone asks if he can take a closer look (which means touching), you can say "Sure, but be careful, or you get a sad WALL-E". And its true, they pick him up, the neck tilts forward, the head sinks down, and they have a sad WALL-E. For me, it makes the model really awesome, before building it i did read that the guy who designed the movie character played a key role in designing this LEGO-set, i was instantly reminded of this when i first noticed that behaviour. I have never seen anything like it in any other lego set. No pieces come off, the build is very stable, but the build has this emotional instability to it, and this strong tendency to move a certain way when someone unfamiliar with the model handles him. By fixing it, which can be done with a rubber band or something, i think you would take away from the design of the model. I have to give this design the highest score, the "flaw" can be a really great conversation starter, but the play experience is obviously lowered because of it, a child cannot roll this around the room without WALL-E ending up looking sad. 14 July 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Decent display with average play I bought wall*E as a display model and I am not disappointed. He has just enough features to pose him in various ways and you cannot say 'no' to those cute eyes of his. The compartment storage is nice and has potential to motorize him although it has small gaps so be careful with storing tiny parts. Two buts though, actually one since the flimsy head has been mostly adressed and fixed to an extent. The tracks only move on carpet like surfaces but then again this is a playability issue and as I mentioned I bought it as a display. Another good thing is the color code, I like the new yellow/orange. Thats it, I am not even a fan of the movie, to be honest I barerely remeber it but I am happy he can share a room with me, he even inspired me to clean up my mess, how come ? I have a brief review on this set but it's on my youtube channel. get2point Animated films. 14 July 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Really Nice Build So this is my first review ever. I was compelled to write it because of how this model turned out. I have built lots, and I mean lots, of Lego models. This is the first model that I have ever built that adds the element of emotion after it is built. The build is enjoyable. Price is on point. When you get done you have made yourself a little friend. My kids like Wall E and play with him, but, they are very delicate. It was a building experience that was unexpected and wonderful. In the Who did you purchase this for question drop down menu there should be a purchased for family option. 11 July 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by "Wow!!!!" is still not sufficient This set is marvelous. I really have the feeling that the real version is on my desk, watching me work with his beady black eyes. The fact that his head, eyes and neck can be moved in virtually every direction, make his "facial" expressions life like. The hands can be moved, grip things and add to the general expression of the character. If I would have to give one remark: the flower pot should have been a boot... 02 July 2016
