Easily one of the neatest looking villains for the Bionicle 2015 collection, Skull Basher has a great assortment of pieces and a neat mechanic with it.
1. Great design and shape to the figure, giving a strong impression of power. Indeed, the skeletal appearance is well presented, between the limbs, mask and chest piece.
2. Incredibly neat mechanic for the arms, which works really well. A very unique build is used that one can really appreciate the thought that went into its creation.
3. A really neat infected Mask of Earth, which is a mix of translucent purple and gold. Makes for an excellent addition to ones Mask collection.
4. In general, a great assortment of pieces and an excellent color scheme.
1. The shoulders (in the mechanic area) are not truly held in place and can swivel around, causing the arms to move forwards or backwards, much like the original G1 Toa or Rahkshi.
1. Even with the wide feet, the figure can topple over, mainly because it is top heavy, with a mix of its weapons, horns and mechanic.
2. Mask can be knocked off by flipping the character over too quickly because of the horns.
A great model which I would recommend to any fan of Constraction figures. The design is neat, the mechanic is terrific, and the parts are all quite useful.
My one final comment though is concerned with the story of the character: Exactly, what species is Skull Basher or any of the other Skeleton Warriors? They are all as large as Toa, suggesting they are not villagers or even Protectors. Just a question I hope the series will answer...

My grandson loves all the BIONICLES. He has the whole collection. They all have unique weapons, and you can pose and move their arms and legs. This makes them more desirable. He also loves taking them apart and creating his own unique Bionicle, great for expanding his imagination. He is looking forward to collecting the new Uniters set. MORE GREAT FUN.

Rated 4 out of 5 by biosam182 An awesome wave
This set is awesome, even though I like the old Bionicle more. When I first heard Bionicle was coming back, I was really excited. The new sets do not disappoint. However, the only problem with the new sets is the function that pops the masks off. Every time I play or touch my set ,his mask pops off. It is a cool function, but it makes the mask fall off way to easily. Other than that, I would recommend this to a friend.

From a story perspective I LOVE this guy he's basically a huge savage brute that acts as Skull Grinders muscle. The Set itself is FANTASTIC. Everything about this set is great. First and foremost the color scheme is awesome it blends so well and the transparent purple rocks! The action feature for this guy is really unique and I like the ability to both perform a Swiping and Slashing motion with this figure whilst still allowing the figure to hold it's weapons up and stay that way. This is probably my favorite new bad guy and IMHO the best of the sets. Good job Lego Dev. team! And I highly recommend as a Must have to any Bionicle fans

Rated 5 out of 5 by comptsy A Unique Function
The Skull Basher's function is unique to this set, instead of a arm-swinging gear function like the earlier 2015 sets had. You push a button on the back, and the arms smash together. This can allow it to steal masks. However, to take a mask off of another figure, it can be difficult to position the arms properly. The figure looks great, with purple and metallic silver and grey as the main colors, with some transparent orange. The transparent orange looks surprising good on the figure, with the transparent purple. The mask looks good, and so does the gold/transparent purple corrupted mask of Earth. The one problem with the set it the large horns, which can easily knock the mask off. The arms could be difficult to position and hold that position for display, due to the way the function is build. This does let the arms swing from side to side for play though. Overall, it is a great set.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Enigma007 Skull Basher: A Great Set!
When I first saw images of this set, I was disappointed. I thought it looked incredibly bland. However, having it in my hand now, I'm glad to say that isn't the case in the slightest.
Really has the skeleton look down. He definitely looks like he's an undead minotaur warrior, but still feels right at home with the rest of the Bionicle universe.
New pieces! (new color of main torso, trans-purple rib cage, hook axes, bull skull mask, armor add-ons (these seriously look like Sauron's armor!) and chest plate printing)
Axes are very good at pulling off masks
Huge amounts of posability. This guy can actually hold his axes over shoulder, which is great because I was disappointed when Lewa and Gali couldn't do a pose like that!
Unique action feature. Unlike most of the other sets, Manotaur here has a button on his back that when pressed, "bashes" his arms together. BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE: You can also slide his back around to swing his arms side to side, similar to the Rahkshi in the original Bionicle. I'm glad he has a unique feature, it fits his character more than a gearbox would.
PURPLE (trans-purple, no less!)
A somewhat challenging build. I must say, I was somewhat surprised by it.
The corrupted mask of Earth. It looks really good on him, and it looks somewhat wrong on Onua - which is a good thing. AND IT'S MELDED GOLD AND PURPLE
The Big One: His horns. While I really like how they look on him and his aesthetic would be ruined if they were taken away or made smaller, his horns get in the way of EVERYTHING. If you just tap the horns a little bit, his mask'll fall off. Which is annoying. It gets in the way of his function, it gets in the way of play, and it gets in the way of posing. It's a shame, but I had to rate it a bit lower for play value because of them.
Armor add-ons on shoulders pop off pretty easily as well
Hook axes are kinda flimsy?
The purple on trans-orange on his back armor doesn't look great IMO
BIG RED BUTTON (It doesn't clash too badly, but still)
He's rather symmetrical for undead creature. Decay isn't usually distributed evenly.
Overall this set is amazing. Most of the cons are either minor or personal opinion, the only big ones being the horns knocking the mask off and armor on his shoulders popping off. The pros far outweigh the cons. If you're a fan of Bionicle, here's my advice: get him as soon as possible.

This bionicle looks great. I think it's the best villain in the wave compared to the skinny or inflexible other skull fighters. while he may not be the largest, just like ekimu he makes up in features and detail. and the mask looks great
