    Answer:
Yes you can just weigh yourself. If you don't store any heights it won't work out BMI. If you switch on the scales and stand on them it just does weight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Brilliant I did my research before buying these and worked out exactly what I wanted from this kind of product. This item is perfect. You can set them up to remember a person (or persons) with gender, height and weight information. From there you can either use the scales just for a quick weigh or you can use the saved data and weigh yourself so that it shows not only your weight (in lbs or kgs) but water and fat measurements. It will show you whether these are too high or not. Batteries are included, which is a bonus. I don't think the BMI function that you can pay so much more for is necessary. These don't have it but it's easy to work out - and they even have a BMI chart in their instructions so that you can. They are easy to set up (I just fiddled around with them for about ten minutes) - and had I found the instruction booklet in the box sooner it would have only taken moments, I'm sure! I don't use them on carpet as they don't work (I don't think any scales do on carpetted surfaces) but they ar spot on on flat surfaces - exactly the same as the calibrated GP scales. For a tenner plus delivery you can get a fantastic set of scales that perform every function you'll need, look good, are accurate and are made by a reliable manufacturer - oh, and they come with a 15 year warranty! Perfect:-) 13/01/2012
