Rated 4 out of 5 by Good value While we were pleased with the product once assembled it would have been a big help with decent assembly instructions & at the very least pilot holes should have been pre-drilled. It took my wife & I two half days to assemble. 15 May 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Ryeford garden arch The arch looks great! But the assembly of it is not! Firstly, there are no guide holes for the screws which means that you have to do a lot of measuring. Secondly, the screws provided are NOT long enough! Provided are 60mm and 40mm screws which it says on the instructions are needed. In fact you will need 100mm screws to go through the posts! It was a bit irritating to have to go and buy 8new 100mm screws half way through putting it together and meant it cost me an extra! Worth it in the end but be aware! 17 April 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Ok product but.. The delivery was good . Construction would only suit people with reasonably good D I Y skills as there are still no pilot holes for the screws . Mine came with NO screws but if you follow the instructions the screw sizes would be too short unless you drill a pilot hole then bore out the wood half way through the piece. I was ok as I had a good selection of 100 mm screws on hand. Some of the wood is a bit disappointing with knot holes in the trellis ,if I paid some of the prices on the net I would have thought I had been robbed but ASDA price is very fair. Took me about 2 hours to make up at a steady pace. Looks tidy but will benefit from staining when dried out . 12 June 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Recommended but with warnings This is a good quality item but unless you have a drill and someone very practical to do the job for you forget it. I thought it would arrive and I could screw it together and then put it in place (I was aware I would need spikes in place to secure it in my lawn). The problem was there were no pilot holes in the wood so it had to be measured and then holes drilled. It took several hours to put it together and this was by someone who is very practical - if it was left to me I probably would have put it on the bonfire. However, now its up it does the job and looks good. 05 December 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 Amazing garden arch. This was by far the cheapest arch on the web. It is really easy to build. You do need to drill screw holes but this in instructions. Measure the gap between posts and then assemble top arch. 12 April 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Lovely product but hard to assemble The product is beautiful when up and worth the hassle. The screws supplied with the product were too short so we had to buy longer ones. No pre-drilled holes were included. The Assembly took two people two hours. 04 May 2014

    Answer:
You need to buy 75mm base brackets as the uprights are 70mm square. The bolts tighten up well but my hubby still drilled and screwed them to the uprights.

    Answer:
Square 70mm posts means a 75mm base bracket is needed and then you will have to made blocks to use as wedges to sure up the arch.

    Answer:
NO The screws for fixing the uprights to the arch needed to be counter sunk to ensure adequate fixing. They need to be 50mm not 40mm

    Answer:
The finished opening width can vary dependent upon how you assemble the arch, none of the items are pre-marked or re-drilled.
