Rated 4 out of 5 Everyone loved it! Bought this for my granddaughter's birthday. It arrived on time. I had already prepared a site in the garden and we spent a day and a half putting two coats of garden shades (in cream and blue) on prior to assembly. I started putting the pieces together on Sunday as soon as the paint dried and had it fairly well assembled by teatime. I finished the roofing felt the next day. It's definitely more complicated than a set of drawers but if you can measure and cut wood you should be able to cope! After today's kids' party, at least two parents went home wanting one. 18 August 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Worst purchase ever for novice Fairwood Cubby playhouse looks great from pictures and we purchased it as it looked perfect for our two kids. Instructions are vague and diagrams are so small and blurry that they are next to useless. It needs to be treated with 1 or 2 coats of wood stain before assembly so allow 2-3 days to put it up. I would not suggest buying unless you are an accomplished DIY-er with some basic carpentry skills. It was impossible to use a power screwdriver for most of the assembly because it was too bulky to get into tight corners. Drilling holes where required was often difficult owing to restricted room to manoeuver even a small drill in corners. The roof assembly is rubbish- the roof panels do not meet flush at the apex as described and it is seemingly impossible to secure them together as instructed. I would recommend screwing the roof bearers to the roof panels as the nails supplied do not hold them after cutting. It is reasonably well constructed, if a little rough, but very little thought has gone into the assembly instructions. If it was intended for self assembly a few pre-drilled holes to assist with assembly would have made a great deal of difference. Overall we were very disappointed and would not recommend this playhouse unless you pay for it to be assembled by a professional. 31 May 2013
