Why we love this

This unique child seat is positioned in the middle of the adult bike for better balance. It's safer too as your child's feet are enclosed and your arms are around them. Your child has the same view as you, rather than of your back, and you can talk to them and point things out on the journey.
The WeeRide Classic is the original and best front mounted child seat. This is because it isn’t actually front mounted, but is centre mounted. Front mounted seats put all the child’s weight on the handlebars which means steering is more difficult, your child gets thrown around, and most importantly, are unsafe in our opinion if you need to stop quickly Our centre mounted seat puts all the weight centrally and your child is safely wrapped in your arms. The first time you ride the seat you realise why the reviews are so good as it is such fun being able to chat to your child and point things out.

Product Features: < br />< br />Includes a headrest so it's safe for your child to fall asleep< br />
  • Seat is very comfortable for your child< br />
  • The seat does not interfere with the steering because it is not connected to the handlebars< br />
  • The child seat does not move when you turn the handlebars so it's more comfortable< br />
  • The seat connections mean that the seat does not wobble like some other front seats< br />
  • Fits your child from when they can support their head until they can go on their own bike, ages 1 to 4 approximately < br />
  • Remove back bracket< br />
  • Clamp around seat post< br />
  • Loosen bolt in centre of bar to get bar to correct length< br />
  • Remove one bolt from front bracket, and loosen the other< br />
  • Attach to head post above cross bar, this is quite a small gap< br />
  • Tighten all bolts.< br />
  • Attach seat< br />
  • Simple as that, 5 min job, see video on WeeRide< br />

The minimum frame size is 16”. We would recommend the minimum adult height of 5 ft 2”
The min gap from headset to seat post is 50cm and max 60cm

In 99% of cases it fits. We don’t advise for racing style bikes where you lean forward too much. If you look on the VIDEO page you can see how the bar fits. YES it uniquely fits Full Suspension Bikes.YES it fits oversized head tubes

DOES IT AFFECT MY RIDING STYLE? < br />< br />Yes, there is a very small change to your riding style. The seat can be fixed further towards the handle bars to minimise this effect further. Plus if you wanted to ride an extremely long distance or very fast, as you may do without the child, the seat removes in seconds.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Would highly recommend Excellent idea to have seat at front. Look at video on you tube - really helpful if you aren't sure. Baby really comfortable, loved being able to see. She actually falls asleep sometimes when it is nap time, and can rest her head down on front panel for this - unlike seats behind where baby's head bobs about wildly which I have seen happening. Seat is attached to my husbands mountain bike and he feels steady with it. Just make sure you sit it far enough forward on the bar provided to allow you to stand comfortably as you need to do when you stop at traffic lights etc. Can't comment on durability yet as only had for a month. 15 October 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by WORTH EVERY PENNY My husband thought I was mad paying £65 for a bike seat for him for Xmas to use with our 2 year old son, but as usual, he has realised I was right! This seat is so simple and so clever. The bike is easy to ride and my son loves every minute of getting on our bike (except having to wear his helmet). I am 5ft 4 and was worried about whether it would be difficult to ride and that I could see over my son, but neither were an issue. Yes I have to ride with my kness slightly wider, but I am more than happy to trade that for all the advantages with this seat. Most importantly my son's safety and enjoyment. I now know why so many people took the time to review as I feel like I am in a special club! 11 January 2011
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great for full suspension bikes This is a perfect purchase for me as it means I can use my high spec bike for my own rides as well as being able to use it for family rides. This fits no problem on my full-sus Giant and I see no reason why it wouldn't fit most other top end brands and varying suspension designs. The neck is narrow so it still fits bikes where the head stem is welded close to the cross bar - something you can't see in the pictures. Seat comes on and off in seconds and the bar takes less than five minutes using the allen key. My son loves it and its great being able to see what hes doing all the time. You do have to ride with your knees out but its not like you'll be riding with any speed! 03 September 2009
Rated 5 out of 5 by Nice one! Really happy with this chair. Daughter of 12 months fits it very nicely. The harness is large enough to go over a coat (and still be tight/secure of course). She loves being able to see ahead and we love being able to keep an eye on her! Its currently fitted to a road bike (Giant Comfort GSR) and its fits nicely and is well balanced. Its a good idea to have the seat a little lower than normal so that you can reach the floor without tipping the bike too much. Also you need to adopt a slightly "knees out" riding style but we don't find that any trouble. So far we're really happy with the product - haven't had it long enough to score Durability really hence the 4 Starts (looks like it will be fine). 14 December 2011
Rated 3 out of 5 by Nice product but difficult to fit to our bike We bought this product having seen lots of favourable reviews plus a recommendation from a friend. For our particular bike (Trek 4100 mountain bike), however, we found it exceptionally difficult to fit. My husband found he needed another person to help fit it as the bolts and attachments were extremely fiddly. Now fitted, my husband finds he has to ride with his knees sticking out to the sides and the vicinity of our little boy in front of him, means that his (our toddler's) helmet is pushed forward over his eyes. Both these factors mean that is only going to be suitable for very short rides, unfortunately. Any tips welcome! 25 November 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great seat, although a little uncomfortable for me The instructions were very easy to follow and I fitted the seat in about 15 minutes. My baby is 1 and so far seems to like the seat (not too keen on the helmet though!). The straps are very secure and he seems very safe in it. The feet holders keep his legs from jangling about and he happily holds onto the head rest in front of him. I am 5'5" and feel a little bit uncomfortable behind him. His seat is as far forward as possible but when leaning towards my handlebars I lean onto him. I am also going to have to get used to the seat rubbing against my thighs! I think the seat is fine and will be good for cycling to nursery then work, but I can't imagine using it for long distances. I've only had it a week though so its early days. 18 August 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great option to a rear seat I bought this on the recommendation of a friend. It is great because I can talk to my daughter whilst we're riding and point things out to her. I did find she tried standing so caught my chin, but I think I just need to tighten the harness. It did take a while to install the first time, but we wanted to make sure it was done properly. Leaving the cross bar on and adding the seat seems very easy. I would say the down side is you definitely cycle differently - you have to keep your chest high and your knees wide! However, it's a great purchase and I'm looking forward to using it more. 08 July 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by very good idea Our 21 month old fits in no problems and instantly felt comfortable as he could see everything that was going on compares to the rear seat. Tricky to fit and could do with a quick release mechanism as we like to swap between bikes. I would of thought that 2 - 3 years old would be the max age as the seat is small for a 4 year old. It is very sturdy and feel it is safe. when riding your knees to splay out a little but this was no problem at all. You can easilt see over the top of the child and the steering was no problem either. Overall we are glad we bought it. 08 May 2012

    Fitting A WeeRide Bike Seat

    WeeRide Bike Seat

    WeeRide Classic

The WeeRide Classic is the original and best front mounted child seat. This is because it isn’t actually front mounted, but is centre mounted. Front mounted seats put all the child’s weight on the handlebars which means steering is more difficult, your child gets thrown around, and most importantly, are unsafe in our opinion if you need to stop quickly.
Our centre mounted seat puts all the weight centrally and your child is safely wrapped in your arms. The first time you ride the seat you realise why the reviews are so good as it is such fun being able to chat to your child and point things out.
    • A unique CENTRE MOUNTED bike seat for children
    • Number 1 selling seat in the UK and US
    • Recommended for ages from 1-4 years. Though can be used as soon as neck muscles are strong enough ie 6-9 months.
    • Allows the rider to communicate with their child.
    • Child’s needs can be dealt with.
    • Interesting view for the child, not just your back!
    • Patented bar puts weight in centre of bike and not on front like other front seats
    • No attachment to the handlebars which we believe is dangerous
    • You feel the child is more secure with your arms around them.
    • The seat can be fitted easily within 20 minutes
    • The seat can be removed in seconds for solo riding
    • Headrest for baby to sleep, which they do at an early age
    • No dangling legs as moveable footrests
    • Fits all bikes including oversized head tubes and full suspension of 16”+ (except drop handle bars). Comes with its own bar so fits to Ladies and Mens bikes.
    • 5 point safety strap and enclosed movable footrests for child safety
    • Extra bars available for multi bike use
    • Everything you need is in the box including the seat, bar and tools

    BOX SIZE 26L X 30W X 50H

The WeeRide seats are the safest and most fun seats you can buy, just go online and read the reviews. Rear seats destabilise your bike, your child looks at your back and you can’t interact with them. Front seats put the weight on the front of the bike and are uncomfortable for your child. The WeeRide is a unique Centre Mounted seat

My latest child used from 6 months. Most kids can use from 9 months. The EU standard says from aged 1, but the standard has to be inclusive all the inferior seats out there. You will stop using the seat at 4 which is when most kids want to get out on their own bikes.

Very simple. There is a small change to your riding style as the seat is in front of you. Mounting the bike

There is a video online that shows me fitting to a bike in about 5 minutes. I wasn’t rushing, but hav done many times. I would say fitting time is 5 to 15 mins.
It is very simple, especially if you look at our online videos:

It will fit to all bikes as long as they have between 49 and 60cm from seat post to headset.
It will fit mens, ladies, full suspension, oversized headset etc.
It will vene fit most drop handle bar bikes, but the riding position means we dnt recommend fitting to these bikes
