This heater was the cheapest I could find for the output - and it produces a descent amount of heat for such a small size.
Unlike convector heaters, it gives off radiant as well as convected heat once it has warmed up, which means that it feels like it is heating me, rather than the air. It also doesn't give the stuffy feeling convectors give. I can feel the radiant heat at about 2-3m distance.
I would say it is definitely capable of heating a 4x7m, well insulated room up, and can provide spot heating in larger rooms.
Build quality is good too - the only downside is that the castors need installing, and the brackets in the booklet look different to those provided.

Once it had been unpacked, we noticed that there was a nut missing from one of the casters and this was necessary to keep the caster attached to the unit. For this reason, we returned the heater and received a refund as there were no others in stock for a replacement.
As it happened, this benefitted us as we found a slightly larger and more powerful 2000w 9 fin heater for exactly the same cost which we are very pleased with.
I'm sure we were just unlucky with our purchase from Asda Direct as I think it would have been more than adequate but I do think it should be cheaper as there are bigger and more powerful models available for the same money.

Having recently moved into a Victorian property, the front room of which a) has the front door in it, instead of a hallway, b) has the stairwell leading off it c) has high ceilings and d) has only one radiator, I was only getting the room to 18 degrees with the radiator on. Having read the reviews, and needing heaters for a couple of other rooms, I decided to go for this product due to the price. Now, I can pop this on full blast for an hour and the room gets very toasty. Only complaints are that it gives off a plasticky smell for the first few uses, also my boys' room, at the top of the house, has no radiator and this heater isn't really effective at heating it, for that I will go for a bigger heater that also convects. I'm also using this heater plugged in with a timer in my bedroom, heats it very well before I wake up, and that's within around half an hour.

Bought this as house is a little colder in the winter months as no central heating! Bought a timer with this as well and set it up and now I don't have to do anything and my room is warm when I need it to be. Got the other 2 for house mates that are enjoying as well, cheaper on electricity as the oil within the heater stays hot after turning off. Built in thermostat helps as well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by gedwin good value, effective heating
Good heater, not particularly large and kicks out quite a bit of heat. A welcome addition in our cold cottage to help warm the living room and dry clothes etc. Reasonably well built and attractive.

This heater is fantastic! I live in a studio and this is perfect, small enough to fit nicely in the room but definitely warm enough to warm my whole room. I love it!! Best buy!!

Looked around for a cheap but robust oil radiator for our kitchen which does not have a Central Heating radiator. Needed a one with a thermostat so I could set a reasonable temperature and leave it on all day. Saw this on the ASDA site, bought it Friday Noon, it was ready for pick up at my local store Saturday 5pm! It was unpacked and up and running in 10 minutes and has made the kitchen much warmer. Surprisingly I only need to keep it on the lowest setting (500 watts) which should make it cheap to run.

I bought this radiator as an additional heat supply for our conservatory. Its small and compact so not very intrusive and gives off a really good heat. I will probably use it all year round. Please note the radiator is grey though, I hadn't realised that. Overall a good purchase.
