A benchmark Wairau Valley style showcasing the ripe fruit characters found in this sub region. The nose exhibits intense and powerful aromas of passion fruit, grapefruit, blackcurrant and underlying gooseberry tones. The palate is concentrated with an explosive array of ripe gooseberry and tropical flavours, naturally complemented by a fine thread of acidity and a long finish

Villa Maria's Wairau Reserve nearly always needs about 18 months for the lees to enhance the flavour as opposed to the body. Too rich/full bodied at the moment but give it time.
