Rated 5 out of 5 by Best Disney Film for years Princess and The Frog is one of the most underrated Disney films. It connects on every level. Set in Jazz era New orleans, Tiana (played by Anika Noni Rose) is a young girl knocking herself out working 2 waitressing jobs in order to complete the dream her Father never accomplished, to open her own spectacular restaurant. Touching on so many levels: The classic animation style (no CGI here) is stunning and magical, the pathos in the story is classic Disney, the humour is great and the characterisations are classic too. The story unfolds around a Foreign prince on his uppers, A voodoo conman called Dr facillier (played brilliantly by Keith David) , a jazz Trumpeter Alligator called Louis longing to make it big in the Jazz scene and Mama Odie, the blind but brilliant voodoo priestesss. The soundtrack is just fabulous, one of Disney's best. Can't recommend this film enough. It's as good as Frozen. Is a classic favourite in our house, as is the soundtrack. 12 April 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by A revelation I bought this for my two year old grandson who loves crockodiles, frogs and dinosaurs, in fact anything green. Next to Peter Pan this is the next best thing to sliced bread. He even takes the cover to bed with him. 11 July 2013
