Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 9 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good Film This film even though it is a remake is a really excellent. It keeps you on the edge of your seat an excellent mystery thriller Daniel Craig plays a great part as a investigative journalist who has just been sued for libel when he is approached by a wealthy recluse of a large family to investigate a possible murder. And in return he will receive the information he did not have to sue the man he previously was not successful in doing .Along with a substantial payment. However all is not what it seems and along with the help of the most unusual female accomplice the plot unfolds.Highly recommend this film well worth watching 20 January 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Unusually Graphic Crime Thriller I found this enjoyable , the quality of the acting is first rate but the setting in Sweden is a welcome break from the normal American Crime scenes. I have watched all of the original Swedish DVDs and so far they have managed to capture most of the original story , in this DVD. It sets the scene for the inevitable follow up. 06 May 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by great story - good night in! This is a great story, this version is not as true to the book as the original swedish version, this one is more glammed up for hollywood style and the swedish version is more gritty and true to the book - page by page. still a good night in but watch them both to see what i mean! fast delivery, well packed! 13 May 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good but I still prefer the originals A great job has been done with this film, but if you have read the books and seen the original feature films you may find some of this version feels slightly rushed and some elements are abridged or missed out. It is still however a very good film and captures the characters very well. I may have been better watching this without knowing the story so well already. 26 December 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by TOP FILM THIS FILM IS ALL ABOUT A YOUNG GIRL WHO GOES AND GETS A DRAGON TATTOO AT A TATTOO SHOP, SHE REALLY LIKES THE TATTOO AND IT LOOKS REALLY GOOD. BUT THEN ONE DAY THE DRAGON COMES TO LIFE! SHE THEN HAS A NEW BEST FRIEND AND THEY FLY AROUND TOGETHER EVERYWHERE. GOOD FILM WOULD RECOMEND. 23 April 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Spot on! I bought this as a gift and thus have not watched this film (I don't think it's particularly up my street). But I can comment on the service, which was fantastic. It was very quick to arrive, I would order with ASDA again. 23 June 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by A great adaptation, not a remake This is a brilliant adaptation of the book by the super stylish David Fincher. It is not a remake of the Swedish one, so don't compare them, this is just another adaptation of the novel, and it is fantastic. All the acting is brilliant, the story is well paced and very tense, and it doesn't disappoint. There seems to be quite a lot of subplots going on and back story's that don't seem to matter to this film, but I think they come in in one of the later books. There is a horrible scene as I'm sure you've heard, it is not pleasant, but this is an 18, however, it only lasts about 2 minutes top. This is a brilliantly thought out 'who dunnit' and you do have to concentrate to follow it, which is what I like, not everything is spelled out for you as its not a film for idiots. Only 2 sniggles, 1. The accents, they are all Swedish, yet some of them try Swedish accents, some do not. 2. (possible spoiler alert) the casting, Daniel craig and Roony Mara, great, Chris Plummer great, and then there is one other famous actor, hmmm, I wonder who the bad guy will be, sticks out like a sore thumb from the start . 06 May 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great film worth buying! Bought this as it had fairly good reviews & my father had been to the cinema to see it & had said it was very good. Very good film. 16 May 2012
