Rated 1 out of 5 by dazza190574 Worst freeview box ... ever
This is the worst freeview box I have ever had the misfortune to use. The TV guide is so bad it's useless, some programmes are displayed as 'No information available' but then two minutes later, it changes to show the programme. When you skip through the TV guide it can sometimes skip two hours. Getting information on programmes is really bad too. You have to select the TV guide then press info twice before it will bring anything up, then to exit you have to press exit twice.
Picture quality is OK, but of course that depends on your aerial.
I wish I had never bought this piece of rubbish. It's a good job it's only a short term replacement.

This unit is useful having twin Scart sockets. You may not think you'll need them, but if you have an elderly TV, (mine is over 15 yrs old), you may find the 2nd Scart socket labelled 'video' will give you interference free picture as opposed to the 'TV' socket!
The unit is fully functional with a good set of features, which are easy to use. It's great that you can still have a preview screen to watch the TV whilst surfing the EPG guide screen. Many units just cut the picture off completely whilst you are seeking your next program!
The major downside is that this Polaroid unit has not been issued a 'code' by 'one for all' remotes, so you are stuck with having to use two darn remote controls! Oh well, guess that's progress for you...

Brilliant product - bought for son, disappointed he had to go out and buy batteries for remote. Didn't think to check as thought it was the norm to include batteries these days!

Rated 4 out of 5 by freeviewfan does the basics cheaply
I've had this only two weeks, so I can't comment on reliability. It's cheap. It works fine as specified. It does everything that the one it replaced could do (broke after 10 years). Easy enough to install. Autotunes to all Freeview channels on installation. Be aware that it turns itself off after 3 hours idle, but there is a menu option to disable this so it stays on indefinitely. This is a cheap no frills plug in and play solution for someone who already has a TV and recorder and just wants a basic function set-top box to fit in.

Great freeview box, its small, very easy to use and works better than my old now dead freeview box. The only thing to remember when purchasing this item is that it does not come with batteries or a scart lead.

I bought this for my mum as her Freeview box just died. It was fantastic value and the picture is crystal clear, she also has loads more channels than before and the epg is really easy to use - even my mum can use it!
Top marks all round. One very happy customer.

I bought this item as I could no longer get the digital channels on my portable TV using my old Bush Set Top Box. It is small and compact and is very simple to set up and picks up all of the channels with very clear picture and sound quality. An excellent item for the price but be aware that you will need to buy batteries for the remote control. I would definitely recommend this product.

I am extremely pleased with this product. It has twin scarts, which is difficult to find elsewhere. It was very easy to set up, takes up hardly any room and is reliable. What more could you want for the price!
