Rated 2 out of 5 by Radio Too Loud For Alarm! Purchased this item and took it back the next day… my idea of a clock radio is you can wake up gently with some soothing music, I like the volume low. Problem with this unit is when setting the alarm the quietest volume setting is 5, far too loud!! Apart from that it look nice, buttons are good, display is very easy to dull down for night time, but it’s not for me. 26 July 2013

There isn't a way of changing the time. Once turned on for the first time it is at 0:00. In the manual, it says to set the time: "in standby mode, press and hold the CLOCK button to activate the clock settings mode". That's step 1. But only, there isn't a standby mode! The clock only turns off when unplugged. The actual on/off button at the top (iec 5009 symbol) doesn't actually turn it off, it just takes it to the radio. Then you press it again, and it goes back to the clock again. Like i said, no standby mode, so there's no way of setting the clock time.

Am i really gonna have to wait until midnight and reset it by taking out the battery so the 0:00 time is correct?? Because that's not acceptable.

    Answer:
I bought this clock yesterday after returning one to a low-budget supermarket, which was beyond my understanding!
This one was a dream, & set up in less than 2 minutes.
After reading the instructions thoroughly & logically, I proceeded to auto-set the radio, then set the clock first, then set each alarm.
One minor missing detail - which I quickly worked out - I would say is missing from the instructions, (& since most of the buttons are multi-function anyway ie:short-press/long-hold) is a "double click" to activate/deactivate the alarms could be mentioned.

    Answer:
from what ive learnt so far, as never got any instructions, the power mode switches between clock and radio, so choosing clock mode, hold down clock and change the hours and minute/ tu - and tu + . to set the alarm , alarm 1 ( hold down volume -) or 2nd alarm ( hold down volume +) and use tuning up and down , to set it repress the original volume up or down depending on which alarm u chose. i know ive set it as everything stops blinking and the alarm is glowing next to the time :s volume is loud, i cant seem to change it , im level 13 but least ill wake up! u can choose radio or buzzer when in clock mode, trying to change the time or alarm.
