Rated 5 out of 5 by camj21168 Surprising for an electric shaver
I have been a blade man for many years. In the past I could never get a decent shave from electric so I wrote them all off until my new gf (who didn't know of this dislike) bought me this model. I really am amazed that it works so well and gets so close. I have not needed an adjustment period even. I get a close shave from the first use and since then every time. Design is a 4 star only because of the beard trimmer that isn't on this model.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Rich12 I have used Philips shavers for forty five years and this product is the best yet.
My last Philishave lasted nearly eighteen years, this model really cuts well and I find it a good shape to hold while shaving. It does not have a trimmer, but I have a separate Philips trimmer so that was no bother. I like the large capacity cuttings bay and also that you can wash the razor out with water. I also note the new batteries in this model do last a long long time. A razor well built again and really fit for purpose. I registered it with Philips online and got an extra years warranty. All I can do is thank Phillips for an excellent product again, each day having a shave is a real pleasure thanks to your PT720 Thank you Phillips.

Rated 1 out of 5 by iangolfer Disappointing performance and hard to get a clean shave.
I received this shaver as a Xmas present to replace my ageing Philips 4806.
I had confidently expected that technology improvements and a brand new model would give me a close shave, but in reality the shave is absolutely no better than my old one.
It takes an inordinate amount of time to get an acceptable result, and it seems to me the head rotation speed isn't as fast as it might be.
The shaver cord isn't a coil but a thin straight lead, so it trails everywhere.
And lastly, the lack of a beard trimmer means I have to keep my old 4806 in a drawer and charged up to use once weekly.
All in all, I'm not pleased with this product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by sharkyy This Razor promises so much but delivers poorly
I have heard so much about Philips razors, how they are the best on the market and that they give you a very close shave . It may be true about the more expensive Razors but this one does not cut well and i have to spend twice as long as my previous razor By a rival competator and it only does half the job, leaving my skin sore and still with stuble. Please avoid this razor at all cost.

The instructions said to use the razor for at least 21 days for my face to adjust to it. The first few days there seemed to be a sharp edge on one of the heads which was quite uncomfortable. It eventually went away. My neck burned for the first two weeks and I had to use a balm. After the 21 days my neck felt normal. The razor does not shave as close as a blade.
On the positive side, the charge seems to last as long as advertized and I really like the fact that the razor cleans with hot water, which is fast and easy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by InKC 4 out of 5 stars - MORE POWER ...
I will give you this - Norelco is much better in all ways than the competition of Rem*&^%$, etc., BUT I miss just a 'plain Jane' simple corded model, which I have always had and prefer. One can not find a razor now with a sideburn trimmer that has a cord without the gel injection, rechargeable, and other features I do not need.
My father always used a simple 2 or 3 head Norelco which plugs in and I prefer this too. This model is about 85% the power, even fully charged, of the old corded type. I like the grip too of my old one a little better too for some reason - more comfortable. Unfortunately, everything seems to change, including products, and change is NOT always better or good. I would even pay more for the 'old' type I used to have verses this lower power rechargeable.
