Norman Wisdom's immense popularity stems from his hilarious portrayal of the little guy who always seems to win out in the end. The cloth-capped bumbler is one of the great creations of British comedy.

Press For Time

That is until one day he drenches the new Commissioner, who dismisses him. Disheartened, he goes home and puts on his Dad's old uniform. When he ventures out, he finds himself mistaken for a real policeman and becomes involved in a chase. From then on Norman stumbles from one scrape to another to help crack a real crime! With Lana Morris, Belinda Lee and Jerry Desmonde.
A Stitch in Time
Norman Pitkin works as an assistant to Mr Grimsdale, an old-fashioned family butcher.
