Rated 5 out of 5 by SuperiorChimp3 Great product but rather large!
This is a great item - having never owned a slow cooker before I didnt know much about them but this makes great meals and everything has tasted brilliant!! To be honest i dont know how I managed without it for so long.
A couple of points though - It is rather large and although when the three kids are older I will need the capacity - at the minute I have to make batches and freeze as the cooker must be at least half full. Also if using onions / garlic it can stink the house out but I am now careful to open the back door!
Really pleased with this product but in hindsight may have bought a slightly smaller one.

as slow cookers go, this is a big one. one pot cooking on a timer makes this super convenient, and the size of this cooker means all the meat and veg can go in, and all the potatoes. you could quite easily do a half pot and this might do a family of four for a large main meal. a full pot might mean you can eat from it for two days. you can easily warm food in the pot by turning to full and allow it to reach full temperature over 2-3 hours, maybe a bit longer for a very full pot.
it wipes clean very easily. do not sit the pot in a bowl of water, as the unglazed bottom edge part may soak up water and this may compromise the life of the product, as mentioned in the instructions [im sure many people would miss this].

Very pleased to absolutely recommend this energy saving product!
I originally bought a 3.5L slow cooker, but that was not large enough to take joints of meat. This 6.5L model has more than enough crockpot space to take a large joint and cooks enough volume of stews etc for 6-8 adult servings.
The cooker works beautifully and the flavours are wonderful. Cleaning was very easy and the crockpot goes into a dishwasher. The only negative is that the lid is not dishwasher safe. Personally, I would prefer a larger range of colours, but at the bargain price I purchased it for, I am not complaining!
The 2 year guarantee was twice as long as that for most slow cookers in the same capacity and price range. Buy one!

Before we bought this my Mrs would bother doing much in the way of stews , casseroles or curry's. Thats now changed.
The 6.5L is best suited to someone who has a family of 4+ otherwise go a bit smaller as we usually have plenty left to freeze. Which goes great for work dinners.
Its well made and easy to clean.
If I was to point out any form of negatives as such it would be lack of timer and the lack of a seal around the lid as sometimes bubbling water can escape from one part of the lid.

We have lots of local lamb in our freezer but always think it takes time to prepare & cook for everyday meals..... not now! In the morning chuck a joint or pieces into the cooker, a few herbs, wine/stock & you have a fantastic meal in the evening - brilliant. We got the 6.5L size for this purpose but you can always freeze what you don't eat immediately. Smart looking appliance with a removable inner makes serving easy. Outside does get hot so take care with kids I guess.

This is my 5th slow cooker, I have been using the large ones for years and have worn the last 4 out. This one is a great price, and it is nice and deep. I am actually in the progress of roasting a whole chicken in white wine and grapes for tonight. I have not roasted meat in a conventional oven since having a slow cooker, and I roast the potatoes in a mini oven so it is really economical, it also turns out so much better - especially roast brisket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by parttimecook best freetime gadget
best kitchen gadget i have recently bought. the free time i recieve from not being tied to meal preperation is wonderful. everything my cooker is suppose to do it does, and a few things even better than it was suppose to. the variety of recipies on the internet for slow cooking has almost made my range cooker obsolete, and the price? WOW! well worth it and great value for money.
i highly recommend this item as a kitchen necessity (like a bbq is a garden necessity)

So easy to use and clean, this item is a must have for any busy family. Slow cookers being something my Nan talked about, I wasn't convinced when my Mum suggested this one. But such an easy to use product (combined with a brilliant cook book - bought separately) has so far produced deliciously tender meals for my family of 5, 3 nights a week. Large capacity ensures enough for all, but does mean more difficult to store. Would definately recommend for busy families.
