Description

Marques de Monistrol has been producing cava using exclusively the traditional method since 1882. The use of indigenous grape varieties and the extended ageing gives this cava elegance, style and finesse. The 2009 vintage won the IWSC Gold award!
Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 11 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Very nice Cava Easy on the palette and very drinkable. 06 June 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent value for money. A very quaffable Cava rose, very fruity and as good as many more expensive Cava's I have tasted 19 May 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by An Excellent Cava Bought on offer & was very surprised at the quality of the wine. The bubbles were small & lasted much longer than similar wines I've tried. The taste was good & I've since bought more since. You should try it! 22 March 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good Value Bought this as gifts for a Charity event, so do not know quality. Very good value twice the price elsewhere 27 February 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Very good for the price Slightly fruity and buttery, small bubbles, excellent colour....not too sweet. refreshing to the palate...ready for more cake! 17 October 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by CAVA 2011 The Cava I bought in ASDA recently was the 2011 vintage not the 2010 as advertised. The difference between the two vintages are quite distinct. The 2010 vintage was very pleasant and had a very rounded flavour. The 2011 is bland and has little bouquet on the nose. 11 October 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Gorgeous Even better when on offer 02 October 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Lacks flavour Whilst this is not an unpleasant wine, it simply lacks flavour. It is lightly sparkling and towards the dry end of the scale which I like, but I prefer a little more taste. 30 July 2014

Last time I went to Asda the vintage was 2011 which is not as nice as the 2010 vintage

Yes it's 2011 but I think it's not that different and still very drinkable

Is it dry?

Please can we have more description of taste on the wines? I.e. is it dry, medium or sweet. I'm not buying a whole crate unless I know; as I loathe dry wine..

Answer:
It is dry - but I found it lacks any real taste/flavour. It is not unpleasant though.

Answer:
It is a "Brut" cava, which means it is dry. Sweet is too sickly.

Answer:
Hi there, and thanks for your question. We will work at adding the flavour profile to the product description. In the meantime the Monistrol Cava Rose is a dry style. If you like a medium to sweet sparkling wine I would recommend a Rose Prosecco like the Martini Prosecco Rose.
