Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 294 reviewers.
Rated 3 out of 5 by fit for purpose - not easy to open with one hand Bought 2 of these stairgates as they were on offer at £15 each and were pressure fitting, so no drilling required. Despite looking at others in shops for ease of use, I just bought these without even checking (as the price was so good!) Could only use one as our stairs were too narrow at the top, so took back for refund. I wish I had checked the opening easiness before removing all packaging. NOT easy to open with one hand at all. Worth spending more money for one that is easy to open, I would recommend to try before you buy! (oh, and there is some drilling required for cups that go on wall to secure the pressure points) or can stick them on instead. 25 January 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Quality Item This is a top quality item at a silly price. The extra width is brilliant as we have extra wide doorways to accommodate wheelchair. It was really easy to assemble in a very short space of time, and easily withstood our two and a half year old grandson's efforts to undo it. Looks very smart, and is made of high quality materials. Highly recommend. The click & collect service is brilliant with the gate being available in store within a few days, and we received a text and an email which showed our store layout and where to collect from. Couild not have beem easier! 12 July 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Linden Sure-Shut Gate - no screws! This is the second one of these gates we have bought from Asda as we were so pleased with the first one. No screws to go in so its quick to put in once you get the hang of adjusting it on either side. Would say watch for 'helpful' little fingers trying to put the catch down as they may get caught but we've been fine so far. This gate has an adjustable bottom stopper so it can be put in either left or right handed opening and changed whenver needed. Ordered thru Asda Direct and had it delivered for free to my local Asda within 3 days. Price is definately the best we've seen this gate sold for. 08 March 2010
Rated 3 out of 5 by Safety/Baby/Pet Gate I bought this gate to keep my dogs out of the kitchen when I am cooking. The description said it is easy to open the gate one handed which is why I got it as we do not have a door for the kitchen in the rented property and I wanted to be able to bring cup of tea out but it is not easy to open with two hands never mind one. I burnt myself with tea twice before getting a new gate from Asda £0.05 cheaper and it is brilliant. You DO NOT NEED TO DRILL for this gate and it is easy to put up. Only downfall (Pretty big one for me) is it is tricky to open one handed. 31 August 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fantastic Product - Easy To Use! Fantastic product at a great price!! It only takes a few minutes to fit, and I did it myself whilst 6 months pregnant! Very simple 'pinch and lift' design to open it, however it is still too complex for young ones! Opens nice and wide. I would definately recommend this to anyone with kids! I have three of these - top & bottom of the stairs, and across my kitchen doorway. They are very hard-wearing and sturdy. I have no concerns about my son being hurt on them, or them giving way on the stairs etc. Definately worth the money, a must-have! 23 May 2011
Rated 4 out of 5 by handy to have i chose this gate purely because you don't have to drill it into your frames and the lock system is very useful, however it definately needs two hands to open. It's easy to set up and can be removed just as easily (unless you decide to drill it to your frame). i will definately buy more of these when needed! 18 January 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Peace of mind We have 2 young grandsons (both less than 18 months) who are into everything and can now open doors to explore the house as soon as your back is turned. We needed a gate that we can quickly move from doors to stairs to curtail their wanderings. This is a strongly built gate that is easy to install and gives that extra peace of mind. 11 August 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Lindam I brought this to replace an old Lindam atthe bottom of my stairs. I should have measured, but didn't. This was my fault. The new gate is slightly smaller than the old, so have had to place in a different position, on bottom stair - as per instructions enclosed. I am not as keen on this position, but it does not fit as per my old one. I have had to make a couple of adjustments - extra blocks to my skirting board, as the design of my stairs mean that each point of contact for this device is different. However, this gate is sturdy and well made. I would definately recommend and the fact it is slightly smaller means that this one will fit my doorways, whereas my old one was too big. So all in all a good buy 02 December 2010

you could make it fit 73 cm but you would have to adapt the fixing studs. and it would be a fixed part of the structure as it would render it unsuitable to move around to other locations
