Rated 4 out of 5 by Eh, Not Bad My brother got this set for Christmas and I wasn't very impressed. Don't get me wrong, it is a really neat set. But it just doesn't meet up to your expectations for something about $40! Anyway, I like how it has the new firetruck and the old abandoned building comes with this set. The mini-figs aren't that bad with the new fireman bodies. Well, on to the "Pros and Cons": Pros: Neat set Nice firetruck Old abandoned building New fireman uniforms The fire on the building can be put out Cons: Overpriced Kinda small Could have been better Basically, it's a good set, but overpriced. 24 January 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great set, Bad price It was a very simple set. The building took about 10 min. for me and the truck about 20. The set looked pretty good when i was done. I just wished the building was a bit bigger. The flame part was very cool. The truck was a very neat fire truck. I wish it could fit 1 more mini figure though.I wish it had some more storage space. Otherwise it was pretty neat. Now the pros and cons. Pros cool building neat fire truck 3 fire fighters awesome flame part cons building is too small not enough room in the truck Over all good set.Overpriced, but good. 16 March 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by GREAT SET, NOT SO GREAT PRICE Overall this is a very nice set, the fire truck is realistic and is a great addition to your Lego city's emergency services. The abandoned house is nice because it really shows that not everything is pristine in a city, and it adds atmosphere to the overall set. Pros: nice easy build inclusion of a female firefighter realistic Cons: for its price point it would have been nice if they added another small build to the set. overall overpriced Its a nice set but i think it should be one price point lower, overall good set. 31 July 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 Nice set but way overpriced This set is nicely designed, could have added a few other features to the truck like additional equipment storage and a water supply hose. The ladder is a good design as compared to past trucks were the ladders were weak or the angles were very limited. The idea of the abandoned building is good, however they could have made it 2 stories tall- would have been better. However at forty dollars is way overpriced, hopefully Lego will reduce the price at some point.... 26 February 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 Female Firefighter Saves the Day While I agree with most of these reviews (Playability good, price not so good) there is one key point they are missing - women! This set is brilliant if you have a girl in your home. The ratio of female to male mini-figs in Lego City is atrocious, and I am pleased to see Lego has introduced a female firefighter (pictured with saw) unlike their other Lego fire sets such as 60001 where the women are those in need of help. I bought this (along with 4431, the Lego Ambulance set where a female paramedic - along with her male counterpart- helps a male cyclist) for my soon to be 5 year old girl, who quickly discovered her Lego Friends mini-fig Stephanie wouldn't fit in the little Lego City fire truck she already has. Therefore, says Bella "Girls can't be firefighters. She'll go back to the shop." If you have a little girl in your life, she needs this set! 17 April 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Set is nice, hate the price. Well,I got this set for my b-day,and I love it.The house can be used for many things besides an abandoned building(I use it as a home for a spec ops soldier due to a housing shortage).Even though I've never seen a fire engine like that,it's awesome.I converted it to an ambulance. I took three forest firemen and gave them this, and gave my brother this truck's men.Get this set before it retires!!!!! 31 October 2013
Rated 2 out of 5 by Nothing special Dollar for dollar, 60003 doesn't provide a lot of bang for your buck. I purchased this set for my 3.5 year old son. It took a little longer to construct than expected, nonetheless, I completed it in about 45 minutes taking my time. The quality is of course first rate, but the playability is not that exciting. I would recommend 60002 and 60004 over this set for sure. 23 March 2013
Rated 3 out of 5 by Well it's Ok It's good but it is way to overpriced I enjoyed adding it to my city but for £25....way to much should be around £20! I did enjoy building it but the building is way to small and the fire van is small too...but overall ok... Pros- Nice product Easy to build Cons- House and van to small Overpriced 06 April 2013
