Rated 4 out of 5 by MartinNYC lego city 60051....pretty good
This set is very fun to play with. For its age range it's a great set, but I was surprised with the lack of interior detail, and doors. However the pros definitely outweigh the cons. There's a level crossing and a small station and good supply of tracks making it an ideal starter set. The streamlined nose is fantastic, it gives the train a nice sleek look. Overall it's a pretty good set, and is definitely worth it. I can literally play with it hour upon hour making it a great set in my eyes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by EddieTheChronicler Most Realistic Bullet Train By Lego
Over the years, Lego has produced their fair share of bullet trains. I considered purchasing 10157 when that was being sold and I thought that was a realistic train. Then I came REALLY close to purchasing 7938 because that looked like a really realistic bullet train. But as I went online to buy it, it was gone! But it wasn't just gone, it was replaced by a new train: 60051.
And wow! I just can't get over that cockpit design!! It's sleek, it's cool, it's accurate, I'm so glad I didn't get the chance to purchase the old train! I wish Lego's passenger train sets came with more track, especially switch tracks, but I already had the 7939 Cargo Train so I was able to use extra tracks to lengthen the passenger train and connect the two oval lines. It comes with a railroad crossing (which is a great idea Lego!!) and a small train platform with passengers and bike. These trains actually go pretty fast so long as the motors have fresh batteries- need to be careful around turns because of that though.
One of the great things about the RC train sets is that all of their remotes can control up to 8 trains independently. I really like that this allows you not just to run multiple trains, but to run them at different speeds and different directions (meaning that if you buy multiple trains, they can run at the same time on their own speed and direction).
This is a great set to buy. My only complaint: wish it had more track. But it does come with a nice oval, and station and track crossing, and you can always buy extra track. Definitely recommend, this set has lots of playability, lot of fun.

Rated 5 out of 5 by OisinSmith Very Nice Set
I found this set very enjoyable to build. The train looks good, and even has some nice details such as stickers on the doors. The power functions are a nice feature, I could sit and watch it run round for hours! It comes with a good amount of track plus a level crossing. The platform included is very small and far away from the train but I do like the map sticker. The set is quite pricey but it is worth it for the train you get. Overall, I think this is a very nice set and I would definitely recommended this to any fan of Lego.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JoshandAmelia Hours and hours of fun!
My two year old daughter is in love with this set, especially once I added the headlights (for about $7.00). It only took her about two weeks before she pretty much had the controls on the RC down pat. The build had some challenging parts, mostly just fitting all the Power Function stuff, with the add on lights, inside the front engine. Her Grandpa is in the process of making joining table sections for her two separate Lego tables. Then we will set up the track to go around the outside of them, and build our city on the inside. I can't wait!

Rated 5 out of 5 by amazed78 A Modern Addition to a Train Collection
This train looks very sleek and modern when compared to the previous version, the red passenger train (7938). The set includes the train, three minifigures, a bicycle, a small platform and a narrow crossing, presumably for pedestrians and bicyclists.
I thought the build was easy until I had to put the nose part on. In the end, I had to place the train on its side to get the piece attached. There are a few stickers, but I guess they're inevitable. The battery box problems that I had with the Cargo Train continued with this train, but after some fiddling with the batteries everything started working.
The track is rather short (but it was just as short in the set 7938) and as previous reviewers have pointed out, the nose does stick out. This means you have to place the platform on the inside of the track or right in the middle of two straight track pieces and the pedestrian crossing on the other side of the track. If you don't, the nose will chafe against the platform. The instruction booklet number 2 actually shows how to place the platform and the crossing properly. Also, the way the map of train services is attached to the platform is a bit flimsy as it's connected to the black fence piece with only two studs at the center.
All in all, a very nice and good-looking set with a few minor problems. Definitely a must-have for the average train enthusiast.
