Rated 4.8 out of 5 by 5 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by a pleasant surprise! I will admit I had my doubts at first about this set due to the large 2 part nose piece but during the build I found there are quite a lot of good parts in this set! The Helicopter has a good level of attention to detail! and it's just really big and pretty sturdy. great set for any heavy lifting duties. the sled dogs are also a very cool addition to the set! Like I mentioned earlier the only Con i can think of is the nose section. being a custom builder I would rather have had to build the nose cone and had an extra 20-30 parts to use for other custom models. 21 June 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent Lego Helicopter This Lego helicopter set is fantastic. It is fairly easy to build, but has a lot of fun elements and excellent design. Pros: -Fun design, kids love it. Entertained my daughter and I for days. -Goes well with the original Arctic Lego sets. -Fun elements, including awesome pilot helmet and Husky dogs. They are adorable, or as my daughter says, cute! Cons: -Stickers...just print the designs on the pieces...they are easy to put on, but when you have kids like I do, be ready to put them on fast. -Rotor assembly does wobble a bit, but is not a problem. 26 May 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Surprisingly Good I'm not gonna lie.. I got this chopper on a whim, I thought maybe I could use some extra parts around to rig it up as a transport for the Star Wars Lego cannon and Walkers from the Clone Wars series as I often have "Lego wars' with my nephews. A tactical advantage to surprise them and i freaken love Helicopters and aircraft. Now I want the entire Arctic Science set.. Let me break it down. Pros: Quick, and easy, but run to build.. Bright and fun coloration So much room for modifications for other hauling adventures Lego Huskies A fantastic return for the Lego science build! Woman Scientist! .. Whoo! not a feminist, but I like to have more gal mini figs. ..i mean come on. Cons: The helicopter blades can hit into your wrist when you spin the blade.. ouch.. Crate is a bit.. weak for lego's building skills, but its easy to fix. No real good place to hold onto the helicopter when you play with it and spin the blades. Now i have ANOTHER Lego set to collect!.. thank you Lego D8< I jest on that last one.. awesome set guys! 01 July 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Fine and easy build. I like the details on the dogs og the engine details on the helicopter 01 June 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice, with one little problem A nice model of a S-64 Skycrane and sled dog team. The huskies are a great addition and look very cool. The Good The helicopter itself is an easy build, very straight forward. For some reason I love the orange parts in the Arctic and Coast Guard sets. The pilot mini-fig is nice, but the huskies in the dog team are the highlight of the set. The Bad The rotor has a tendency to flop around and wobble a bit but not enough to take away from the fun of giving it a good spin. The Ugly The only real problem with the set is with the cargo container which is winched up to the helicopter. It is very fiddly and comes apart during play. It is nothing that cannot be fixed for the most part but unless you have the spares to do so it is very frustrating. I suggest a 1x2 and 1x4 dark gray plate on the underside of each end of the top 4x8 plate to better secure it to the corner posts. Even then it still is only marginally more sturdy. The cargo container also does not snug up to the helicopter fuselage very well. Again a trip to the spares box to look for four 1x1 Cheese Wedges to add to the top of the container to help guide it into place. Also adding a 1x4 plate 3 lugs forward of the back wall of the winch well will help keep the container tight against the aircraft while in flight. All-in-all a great looking set The helicopter looks good and is sturdy, the dog team is great but Lego has no excuse for making the cargo container so apt to come apart during play when it would have taken just 4 more parts to make it more secure. 31 May 2014
