Rated 5 out of 5 by Gadgets Kobo eReader Touch Edition
Looked long and hard at most of the eReaders including the Kindle, but opted for the Kobo Touch and have not been disappointed. The reason i went for this was the fact it supports the ePub standard which basically means you can shop at any on-line book store and use your local library ebook store on-line to loan books.
The Wi-Fi is great and the Kobo Book store that is integrated in to the device is full of well priced and loads of free books to download.
One thing that was not clear when i was looking is that you can sync your Kobo to the "cloud" and pick up where you left off on any other supported device including your iPhone or Android phone. Great....

A simple to use reader very easy to set up via the laptop, literally reading a book within ten minutes of opening the box.
Lightweight, easy to read screen with a choice of fonts for reading. Touch screen has a good response with a long battery life. There are a choice of model colours for him and her so will definitely be buying my partner one.
I always liked a book but having tried the Kobo there will be no going back. Jacket pocket for the plane easy, on the train no problem, breakfast table avoiding the marmalade and in bed where the automatic save feature really comes into its own.
Should have bought the cover at the same time for that added protection.

Bought this product from Asda as a replacement for a Sony ereader and it is fantastic. Screen and type is clear and easy to read. Light weight and fits easily into your hand. It is quick and easy to set up, downloaded books I had already bought from Kobo to the device for me.
Unlike the Kindle from Amazon the Kobo will allow me to read epub books meaning I am not limited to the stores I can buy from.
I would recommend this product to anyone who is looking for an ereader.

My Wife bought a kindle just before going on holiday so that she could read while away.
Whilst browsing in the duty free area of the airport I came across the kobo touch which after having a"play" with I found I quite liked.I didn't purchase one because I was going to use my 7" tablet PC with an E- reader app. This is ok for reading inside but as I found out just about Impossible to read outside in bright sunshine.
On my return to the UK I immediatly Found that Asda had the Kobo touch for sale for £10 Less than the Cheapest Kindle
So I ordered one there and then.
It is everything I expected and much better to use than the kindle with its touch screen with the added advantage of not being forced to use one shop for buying books

Rated 5 out of 5 by camin Better than a Kindle...
My daughter bought herself a Kindle which, having seen it in action and as an avid reader, got me thinking about buying an e-reader for myself. For the price of a basic Kindle, I bought the Kobo Touch and I have to say it is brilliant. Reading is easy on the eye, turning pages very quick (and noiseless, so a plus-point for late night readers with a sleepy partner) and the item is light and nice to hold. Best thing is you can download free books - at any time, so not having to wait to visit the library - which you've always thought you ought to read but didn't want to waste money on or library card space!

I have had the Kobo touch for a month now and have thoroughly enjoyed using it.The device boots up quickly, is intuitive to use and has a comprehensive menu.Text size is very easy to change which was important for me. The Kobo store is easily accessible over wifi and has many free books, so it doesn't have to cost you anything to download a book, which you can do in seconds.
There are handy extras such as an internet browser and sudoko, making the device extremely versatile.
In summary I would not hesitate to reccomend this ereader due to ease of use, good touchscreen and handy extras.

Rated 5 out of 5 by crazylune Really pleased with purchase
Chose the Kobo due to the touch functions which werent available on the kindle at time.
Really easy to set up, only took a couple of minutes. Downloads are really easy to transfer or purchase. I like that you arent limited to buying off Amazon as the Kobo can use many different files.
Ideal for taking away on holiday and saving luggage space which was my main reason for purchase.
I was a bit dubious to ditch my paperbacks but I do love the e reader format. Definately worth the purchase, or an ideal present.
