Rated 5 out of 5 by mamasuey Great film, great Asda
I knew this is a great film and so I bought it on 3D Blu ray for my son in law who loves it. I couldn't find it cheaper anywhere and believe me I looked! As usual with Asda the delivery was prompt and as an added bonus it was delivered free!

Rated 5 out of 5 by FilmMaker Own a 3D TV/BluRay player? This is a MUST have
One of the best 3D films I've seen, its exceptionally well done and the the tension builds continuously throughout the film. I originally saw this in 3D at the cinema and throughly enjoyed the re-watch at home.

Rated 4 out of 5 by ParagB Very realistic Movie
Enjoyable film. Watched in 2D initially, but even better in 3D. Great effects, really looked like out in space, especially after watching recent TV programmes showing space.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Tonnersuk Excellent film
Believe all the hype, this is a very good film with great visual effects. I would say that it is best in 3D.

Rated 2 out of 5 by GPHare The Only Stars were not the cast
I as would many, bought this based on the trailers shown on T.V and the biased reviews given by the Fans of the cast of two !. Once you get past what is without doubt an amazing visual experience from the 3D Version you could be left feeling let down ?.
I was just grateful it's a fairly short film ! at 90mins it still feels a yawn and looks like even at this length it was drawn out. It starts with a bang and finishes with barely a fizz. Without the 3D visual effects i don't see anything to make the film worth watching or recommendable.
The same story theme ( one-two people lost or trapped be it in space/on and island or adrift in a boat/ship ) has been done before and generally better . Here the story is week, lacks credibility especially with a Dead George Clooney returning as a Angel like figure to help the Desperate Sandra Bullock when all seams lost and she is about to give in to the inevitable. For me ,if she had then the film would have ended at this point and i would have been saved having to sit through the remaining hour waiting for something amazing to happen but left wanting !! after the initial dramatic mayhem you know whats going to happen and all is going to end well for MS Bullock ...
i wished i had waited for the film to drop out the chart list so as to be offered in the discount sales for a more realistic price, when i would have still bought it but as i said simply for the 3D visuals ( they really are jaw dropping good ). But if its a film you want based on a good storyline then you really don't have to look very far.
I do not see why the film director used Or needed two top Holywood A list actors in the film other than for giving the film some sort of selling feature ? even with their use it does not save what is a pretty poor film.
