This is not a 'blockbuster' wine, it is warm ripe and accessible, full of soft summer fruits all backed up with a delicious spicy, peppery finish. The fact that it comes from the Rhone Valley's leading producer that make this wine Extra Special.

DescriptionThis wine is a 'Villages' which means that it is sourced from specific villages that are known to produce better quality wines year after year. It is this quality and the fact that it comes from the Rhone Valley's leading producer that make this wine Extra Special. The Rhone is a narrow valley that lies between the mountains of the Massif Central and the foothills of the Alps. The vineyards stretch some 125 miles from Vienne to South of Avignon. This wine is made by Cellier des Dauphins, a French Co-operative group which is made up of 13 Co-operative wine cellars from the Southern Rhone valley. It is the most important and leading wine producer for Cotes du Rhone wines.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Garjon07 The perfect choice for red wine lovers I am delighted with this wine. It is has all the qualities of a desirable French red wine and is indeed excellent value for money. Subject to availability I will continue to buy this wine as my first choice. The fact that this wine is produced by Cellier des Dauphins is in itself a huge plus, for their wines are superb. I am a retired Restaurateur with 40 years of experience in selling wines to my customers apart from being a devoted red wine drinker and I strongly recommend this wine. 09 February 2016

Rated 5 out of 5 by abarhs Excellent wine Cote Du Rhone is always a safe bet, so much so that without first tasting this wine I bought two cases. This "villages" really is extra special and almost as good as some Chateauneuf Du Pape varieties at a fraction of the price. 03 February 2016
