Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 1208 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by DC50 Multifloor This is an excellent product, its the first upright I have owned and i'm not disappointed. It makes light work of the dog hair that consumes our house on daily basis. Its lightweight which means it is easy to manoeuvre, we have 3 flights of stairs in our house and its easy for me to carry up and down. The only downside is the dust trap is so small it needs emptying regularly during a cleaning session. We unfortunately were missing some of the attachments when we got the product home. I'm sure however we can get these easily replaced? In short I would recommend this to anyone its good quality and most importantly cleans exceptionally well. 10 December 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Suction excellent but flimsy and falls over a lot! Suction is what you would totally expect from Dyson, excellent and super easy to empty! Very lightweight and easy to manoeuvre due to the "ball". Downside to this particular model being so lightweight is it's flimsy structure. Almost every time I go to stand it up it wobbles and falls over backwards. which is a bit annoying (and lethal in your living room near a plasma TV!) I also found assembling the removable nozzle attachment difficult as the more I struggled to click things into place the more I worried about snapping something off. That said, it's designed to pick up dust and bits off your carpets & flooring, which it does superbly! 08 August 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by My Dyson DC50! I have been after a Dyson for a while but couldn't justify the cost. I finally have one and it has been great. It's very easy to manoeuvre in comparison to a traditional upright. It's light, compact for storage and not noisy. (My 5 month old doesn't get terrified when I run the vacuum round the room unlike with the old one we had) It has great suction on carpet and more importantly hard floors. The only thing I would change would be the length of the hose, it needs to be much longer so you can vacuum the stairs more easily saving you having to hold the Vacuum in the other hand. Overall it has been worth every penny and would recommend it. 08 August 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by My New Dyson Having had my previous Dyson for a long time and been very satisfied with its efficiency I could not think of replacing it with anything other than a new Dyson! So I bought the DC50 multi floor as we have a laminate hard floor in our lounge were we also have a very large loose pile rug. Our DC50 handles these so well and makes cleaning so much easier for us older people! The DC50 is also lighter than our previous Dyson and the Ball makes it a joy to use! The only slight downside is that it requires emptying more often, but this is more than offset by the other advantages it provides!- The Guarantee Period is a Bonus too! Thank you again Mr Dyson. 21 February 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Ok...but This is my fifth Dyson, and I have to say that it is not as good as earlier models. The wand attachment is very difficult to remove and replace, usually resulting in at least one bent, if not broken fingernail. The pipe is not long enough, which means that I have to balance the machine half way up the stairs in order to clean. The machine gets 'clogged up' regularly, at least once each fortnight, which means half an hour with screw drivers to clear it. It is quite tricky to get it to stand up after use, as it likes to fall over. All in all, either I have a Friday afternoon machine, or this model is inferior to the others I have had 28 November 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Clean house at last! This machine was better than I expected and did the job - cleaning very old carpets (not fitted more like Persian Rugs) the machine was super and didn't chew things up at the edges. Don't find the small extra fitments to get to the edges very easy to use. The plastic tube is not very bendable and the machine tended to fall over. Otherwise this is great and I would recommend without question - this machine picks up the dust! The width is very good as it it not as big as the last one and slips in to smaller spaces. This roller ball technology took me a little time to get used to manoeuvre the machine. Thank you Dyson for making things a little easier. 26 October 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by DC50 Multifloor (2015) I have a DC24, but wanted to purchase another machine for my flat. I love the DC24 for its light and easy operation. By comparison, the DC50 is heavy and much harder to push round as well as leaving lines on the carpet. In its favour, it undoubtedly has more suction than the 24, which is probably part of the reason for the greater "push resistance". This is a good machine, but I would have loved to have been able to purchase another DC24, which would have received 5 stars. On a lighter note, it would be useful if there was some indication on the box as to which flaps to prize up to open - trying to extract through one end isn't great. 14 October 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by DC50 Dyson Dc50 Review. The Dc50 is the third Dyson we have bought. We are disappointed with the Dc50 . The two half’s of the ball leave tramlines in the carpet. The ridges prominent on the edge of each half of the ball cause the tramlines. I suppose the purpose of the ridges is to stop the machine slipping sideways when the machine is tilted. We really can’t see any point in the ball, it just makes the machine cumbersome, the ball idea is not for us. We also find the Dc50 is not as easy to empty as previous Dyson (to many small parts to locate and press ). We also think the Dc50 is well over price! On the plus side it does pick up well. 06 November 2014
