Rated 4 out of 5 by laneyboy1 My new DC41 Animal
After the DC07 finally gave up after 7 years of service the DC41 Animal seemed to fit the bill as the best replacement. With the ball technology the DC41 is very easy to manoeuvre and has great suction. It also came with a great selection of accessories. So far so good - now for the weaker bits....the DC41 with its 10M of cable is rather heavy - so if you need to lift up and down stairs maybe the DC25 is a better machine for you. Also it is not possible to wheel the machine about on the rear wheels when moving from room to room, the head drops down on every occasion - so you end up lifting - and as I said previously it's a little on the heavy side.

Excellent hoover, arrived within 2 days which was excellent as i was expecting 10 days. I was tossing up between this one and the dc25 but glad i picked this one as the telescopic wand detaches making it easier to reach tight places which on the dc25 it doesnt detach. Very happy with my purchase. Although expensive they are worth every penny as i usually spend around 100 and they break after 18months when there is no guarantee whereas dyson comes with 5yr parts and labour guarantee so definitely worth it. Dont think id ever buy any other brand again!

Having had Dysons for many years and reluctant to change to ball technology I am very glad I did. This is a great machine, lightweight, easy to manoeuvre fits into much smaller places. Just read the technical information its all true. I also think the problem of splitting hoses has been rectified, I must have had 3 new ones with my last machine, but because of all the other redeeming features of a Dyson I didn't really look too hard for an alternative.

The DC41 Is a fantastic vacuum cleaner and a good buy with all the extra tools that come with it.
I admit that Dyson vacuum cleaners are a little on the higher price range (esp the DC41 Animal) but after using it a few times, it made sense.
I suffer with dust allergies and the DC41 has the best allergen filtering system on a vacuum cleaner, plus the residue chamber is emptied by pressing a button at the top and the base flips open, so you can empty it straight into a bin without getting anywhere near the dust/dirt.
If you have pets (I have 2 cats) then the pet hair removal tool that comes with is is better than any other I have used, well built and does a better job than others.
In case you are wondering, no I don't work for Dyson ;-), I am just pretty impressed at this cleaner and how it does what other cleaners do, though just that little bit better.

This is my second vacuum cleaner from Dyson, the first lasting 12 years! it cleaned up after builers, pets, kids and anything else we put it through with never a moments trouble, bits fell off here and there throughout it's life but its performance was never compromised, the toughest appliance I've ever known!! when it finally died it was like losing a friend :( but had no hesitation in going for another Dyson, defo recommend!!

I purchased the DC41 to replace a much older model that I was very pleased with and had for years. I have found this model to be very flimsy and no where near as robust as the old vacuum cleaner I had before. I am convinced this new one will not last as long as the previous one. I do not like the fact that some of the attachments are separate, where do you store them so they are easy to find and use. All in all disappointed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by TrevorB In my view this machine is not so good as my former machine which was a DC4.
I do not think the ball is all that helpful because it stresses the wrist more than my earlier model .I dislike intensely the fact that it is not easy to get the handle to stay in its erect position without a lot of what seems to be unnecessary effort ie the double click is not easy to operate and the handle falls down in an uncontrolled way.

Rated 5 out of 5 by 210704 I previously had a Dyson which is now 15 years old and does not clean as well as it used to so I decided to buy an up to date model. My previous model DC04 has given me good service and it has never had a thing go wrong with it. It still works but after using the new model I can see that it is not as efficient as it once was. I can only hope that the new model will last as long as the old one
