Fantastic suction ... this is the 1400 Watt model and difficult to find anybody else selling it.
Attachments / fittings are compatible with the Dyson DC44 handheld.
Extra long reach hose, so can just about reach the top of the stairs with the Dyson at the bottom ... although suction is so powerful that it's not easy work at full extension. Animal hair remover also works off suction and is brilliant.
Filter works well - after a full house clean cannot detect any dust in the air ... and I have very sensitive sinuses :)
Ball leaves tram lines on deep pile rugs ... but it gets the dirt ... which is more important to me.
Dust cylinder doesn't feel as sturdy as previous models, but good capacity and very clean & easy to empty.
Very happy with the purchase.

This is my second vacuum cleaner from Dyson, the first lasting 12 years! it cleaned up after builers, pets, kids and anything else we put it through with never a moments trouble, bits fell off here and there throughout it's life but its performance was never compromised, the toughest appliance I've ever known!! when it finally died it was like losing a friend :( but had no hesitation in going for another Dyson, defo recommend!!

This DYSON DC41 Vacuum Cleaner has many design faults, it is flimsy in its construction with the central coloumn twisting and flexing when in use, the plastic quality throughout appears to be thin, poor and one wonders on the potential life span, these machines are still made with the very weak carrying handle installed on several other previous machines which in time is prone to snapping, as has happened on my previous machine. The electric cord is poorly positioned (being too low on the body) giving constant rise to becoming tangled in and under the ball wheel. The fact that accessories cannot be carried on the body is annoying. Although rated as and bought with the need of removing Animal Hairs the DC41 Animal is poor in this aspect of performance and is therefore not suitable to be titled Animal. A very poor Vacuum Cleaner, especially as this is one of the higher priced models. Very Disappointing in Performance - We have one small pet dog and the cleaner cannot cope with picking up his hairs!

The machine is very good on all counts except it is very heavy to handle and carry up stairs. A carrying handle amid the machine would be esier than having to hold it at the top of the shaft.

Our old Dyson was about 10 years old, so the power difference was amazing. Must say the Asda price was by far the best. Delivery was very quick. I dont normally like paying a delivery charge, but as it was such a good price, didnt mind a cheap delivery priced. Item is excellent.

This cleaner does not feel as robust as older Dyson models, but appearances may be deceptive. Time will tell. The ball design takes a bit of getting used to and to my mind is not as easily controlled as rigid designs. The dust bin is quite a bit smaller than my old Dyson and requires more frequent emptying. The cleaner is heavy, which is not problem for me, but may be some some people. The biggest negative in my view is the mechanism which locks (or doesn't!) the cleaner in the upright position, which is quite weak and renders the cleaner awkward to move around on its back wheels as the head is prone to flopping down. On the plus side the cleaning performance is fantastic and appears to get up dirt from deep in the carpet pile. In my opinion so far as the design is concerned it's a case of why fix it if it isn't broken? Which is what Dyson appears to have done in bringing out this ball type, but I have thus far no regrets about buying this machine.
