Dyson DC28c Multi floor Cylinder Vacuum Cleaner

Conventional vacuum cleaners rely on bags to trap dust and dirt. But when you start to use some bagged machines, dust can clog the tiny holes in the bag. Some ordinary bagless vacuum cleaners work in a similar way. They use a central filter to trap fine dust, which can clog too. Suction drops, leaving dust and dirt behind in your home.
Dyson Ball cylinder vacuums turn on the spot. DC28c cylinder vacuum cleaners have an articulated central steering mechanism. The ball holds the heaviest component - the motor - positioned towards the base for a low centre of gravity and greater stability. Dyson Ball cylinders follow with greater control and without the awkward moves.
Essential components are located inside the acoustically treated ball. The motor is attached to the housing with sound-dampening mounts. Less noise escapes from the airways, and polyurethane sound-insulating materials absorb sound energy.
Emptying the bin on a Dyson vacuum is quick and hygienic. Just press the button to release the dirt. The bin is clear, so you can see when it needs emptying - and how much dust, dirt and pet hair the machine has captured. Dyson vacuums were the first to have clear bins - despite market researchers insisting it was a bad idea. Now clear bins are everywhere.

Rated 2 out of 5 by DC50 Dyson Dc50 Review. The Dc50 is the third Dyson we have bought. We are disappointed with the Dc50 . The two half’s of the ball leave tramlines in the carpet. The ridges prominent on the edge of each half of the ball cause the tramlines. I suppose the purpose of the ridges is to stop the machine slipping sideways when the machine is tilted. We really can’t see any point in the ball, it just makes the machine cumbersome, the ball idea is not for us. We also find the Dc50 is not as easy to empty as previous Dyson (to many small parts to locate and press ). We also think the Dc50 is well over price! On the plus side it does pick up well. 06 November 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Ok...but This is my fifth Dyson, and I have to say that it is not as good as earlier models. The wand attachment is very difficult to remove and replace, usually resulting in at least one bent, if not broken fingernail. The pipe is not long enough, which means that I have to balance the machine half way up the stairs in order to clean. The machine gets 'clogged up' regularly, at least once each fortnight, which means half an hour with screw drivers to clear it. It is quite tricky to get it to stand up after use, as it likes to fall over. All in all, either I have a Friday afternoon machine, or this model is inferior to the others I have had 28 November 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by My DC50 We have owned and used our Dyson DC 50 for several months. Good points are it is very light weight and very easy to use. It seems to have more suction than our old Dyson DC4( which we still have and use after 15 years of use) and therefore I guess it cleans the carpets better. It is very easy to clean around any furniture, it also is able to clean underneath the radiators. Down sides, it needs emptying very often, The flexible hose is not long enough, we manage these points OK. The real complaint we have is that the ball leaves lines on the carpet, very unsightly. Not a cheap cleaner, but very good quality and last for years. 09 August 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Expensive, but good! A great vacuum, cleans well and very easy to use and powerful. Struggles a little on very thicker pile carpets such as our bedroom one other than that will happily move from carpet to wooden floor to rug and tiles with no need to adjust anything. The only downside is the price - I do think you are paying more because it's a Dyson, also the bin needs frequent emptying (which I know it would before I bought) not a problem for me but would be if you have a busy household. Having to wash and the filters is a bit of a nuisance as they take a couple of days to fully dry. I still believe Dyson vacuums to be the best in the marketplace so would recommend without hesitation! 09 November 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by The house has never been cleaner! This machine is great for efficiency. We have two dogs and a cat, all with long fur, which gets everywhere. DC50 copes with it all. However, not so good for people - I find the pull-out hose and attachments very fiddly (Mr Dyson can you have a look at them please) and the dust bag is far too small unless you live in a tiny flat. It's difficult to reach under beds so the dust will just have to stay there. It is light and easy to carry around and the revolving ball thingy makes it easy to use on floors. I think maybe I am a cylinder girl - this is my first upright and I'm not sure that was the right decision. 08 August 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent! I love this Dyson. It's small and compact but works just as well as the larger models. It's small size means it's easy to store. It fits perfectly under my stairs. It's size also means it's light and easy for even my kids to help clean! It's easy to clean and maintain. It picks up brilliantly. Only problem I have had is a small blockage which stopped it picking up. Dyson sent an engineer around promptly and fixed it within minutes! Next time I have this problem I can fix myself now I know how. Overall very happy with my Dyson. Recommend to all especially those with smaller spaces and storage constraints. 14 October 2014
Rated 2 out of 5 by Somewhat disappointed, On the plus side, very good suction power, on first use removed an unsuspected amount of dust and fluff. Negative side: 1. Instruction diagrams are unclear and therefore made assembly difficult. 2. The plastic levers etc. e.g. when emptying bin, appear surprisingly flimsy and I am concerned that they will not last very long, certainly not 5 years. Expected a more robust machine. 3. Fluff gets caught at the top of the bin necessitating removal of the entire cylinder to empty completely, a fiddly operation rather than the expected simple one push of a button. 4. Disappointingly short hose, but maybe to be expected with such a compact machine 29 March 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Clean house at last! This machine was better than I expected and did the job - cleaning very old carpets (not fitted more like Persian Rugs) the machine was super and didn't chew things up at the edges. Don't find the small extra fitments to get to the edges very easy to use. The plastic tube is not very bendable and the machine tended to fall over. Otherwise this is great and I would recommend without question - this machine picks up the dust! The width is very good as it it not as big as the last one and slips in to smaller spaces. This roller ball technology took me a little time to get used to manoeuvre the machine. Thank you Dyson for making things a little easier. 26 October 2014
