DescriptionAs the credit crunch confines fashionistas to their front rooms, rescue is on the way with the highly anticipated Blu-ray and DVD release of Confessions of a Shopaholic in June. Filled with fabulous frocks, romance and laugh out loud comedy moments this is one "must have" that won't break the bank, allowing fans to get their fashion fix from the safety of the sofa. Based on the best-selling books by Sophie Kinsella, Confessions of a Shopaholic stars Isla Fisher (Wedding Crashers) as New York journalist and shopping addict Rebecca Bloomwood. Unable to land her dream job at a top fashion mag, Rebecca gets a break as a columnist on a financial magazine edited by the dashing Luke Brandon (played by British actor Hugh Dancy). Produced by Jerry Bruckheimer (Pirates of the Caribbean, Coyote Ugly) and directed by comedy maverick P J Hogan (My Best Friend's Wedding, Muriel's Wedding), the film doesn't disappoint in the laughter stakes as the quirky clothes horse resists the urge to splurge.
But as the debts mount up and the bailiffs move in, Rebecca realises she could lose everything. Will she realise there's more to life than retail therapy and change her ways in time to keep her job and get the guy? Fans of the film can make their money go even further as both the Blu-ray disc and DVD feature a wealth of bonus material including bloopers and deleted scenes. The Blu-ray disc, which offers five times the picture quality of standard DVD, also contains priceless advice from the film's costume designer and queen of couture, Patricia Field (Sex and the City, The Devil Wears Prada, Ugly Betty). There is also a not-to-be-missed feature on New York's legendary affiliation with fashion and an exclusive featurette comparing the theatre of high-end fashion stores to a Broadway musical. The perfect antidote to recession woes, don't miss out on the season's most affordable "must-have" when Confessions of a Shopaholic hits the shelves on 29th June.
