Zesty lime and grapefruit aromas are the first to emerge from the nose of our 2013 sauvignon blanc, followed by nectarine and lemongrass tones. The palate is fresh and focused with ripe citrus, stonefruit, fennel and mineral notes lingering on the persistent finish.
Cloudy Bay is named after the bay at the eastern end of the Wairau Valley, so called by Captain Cook on his voyage to New Zealand in 1770. The Cloudy Bay philosophy of consistently redefining New Zealand wine and a commitment to allowing the natural fruit qualities to shine through, further reinforce this brand essence. The Marlborough region is blessed with a unique terroir where a cool South Pacific climate produces wines of great fruit intensity. Long sunshine hours, fertile soil and a natural aquifer all contribute to the fine structure and complex nuances of flavour found in the wines produced in this remote southern region.
