Pale pink in colour, this elegant rose champagne is made from carefully selected Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes. The grapes are vinified separately prior to blending to ensure the vibrant salmon pink colour and ripe fruit flavours are achieved with every bottle. Typical of the Sezanne region, this Rose Champagne is full bodied with lively floral aromas and fresh red berry flavours and a hint of toasted brioche. A fine, lively mousse and a long rich finish make this perfect served as an aperitif or for celebrating life's special occasions. Best served chilled.

Champagne is easily one of the worlds most famous sparkling wine regions with a rich history of wine-making. The region lies just over 90 miles North East of Paris in France and its special combination of altitude, soils and influence from the sea work together to create its unique taste. The climate is continental, with cold winters and warm summers although hail damage is a concern for much of the year. Grapes are generally harvested during late September, once they have achieved perfect ripeness and only three grape varieties are allowed in the production of Champagne - Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier, a legality which is closely guarded by the champenois. Vines are grown on chalk and clay soils, which offer excellent drainage and heat retention, helping to keep vines healthy. Champagne Pierre Darcys is based in the town of Bethon, in the Cotes de Sezanne department towards the South of the region. The family have owned and run the Champagne house since 1967 and Bruno Henrich and his wife Jacqueline work in partnership with local growers to ensure they use only the highest quality grapes to make their Champagne's. Alongside running the Champagne house, Bruno Henrich is also winemaker and cellar master. He pays close attention to detail to every stage of the winemaking process - from hand-harvesting the grapes into 50kg trays to ensure that they arrive at the winery undamaged to his careful monitoring of fermentation at carefully controlled temperatures to ensure the rich fruit and balanced acidity is retained in every bottle of his Champagne Pierre Darcys
