Bordeaux is probably the worlds most famous wine producing region. We've been busy looking for new upcoming producers who are building big reputations and have created this case to showcase six of the best.

    Chateau L'Escurac Bordeaux 2009
    France
Although referred to in books of the region since 1839, when attention was drawn to this 'extra quality Medoc bourgeois superieur', it took us until 2001 to 'discover' it! Current owner Jean-Marc Landureau's first vintage was 1990; he has since equipped the property with the finest possible winery and barrel store, and the 'grand vin' receives ageing in barriques for one year, of which 30%-40% are new, depending upon the vintage.
This well-made Medoc reveals lots of cedar, tobacco leaf and black currant characteristics, silky tannin, medium to full body and attractive succulence and flesh. Year in and year out, D'Escurac is a major over-achiever and the 2009 is no exception.

    Chateau De Lussac Bordeaux 2009
    France
Chateau de Lussac was founded in 1876 and has been the property of Mme Laviale-Van Malderen and her husband Herve since the 2000 vintage. The vineyard, like the winemaking equipment has been refurbished. And today Chateau de Lussac produces some of the best wines in the Saint Emilion region, on a terrain of clay and loam.
Medium bodied and full of soft fruit flavours, well balanced tannins and a wonderful depth of flavours from aging in oak barrels. Complex and attractive this wine is a great example of St-Emillion.

    Chateau Gazin Rocquencourt Bordeaux 2009
    France
Chateau Gazin Rocquencort is a 22 ha vineyard in Pessac Leognan, in the Bordeaux region
The 2009 Gazin-Rocquencourt possesses a deep ruby/purple colour as well as a beautifully scented bouquet of cedar wood, forest floor, black cherries, and cassis, sweet tannins, a plump, full-bodied mouth feel, and a nicely textured palate that builds incrementally without any heaviness.

    Chateau Bois Pertuis Bordeaux 2011
    France
Situated on the right bank of the Gironde, just north of the city of Bordeaux, Chateau Bois Pertuis benefits from an exceptional terroir of well-drained gravel, sand and clay. The winemaker Vincent Cachau uses all of his skills during the vinification process to produce a wine which reflects the heritage of Bordeaux, but which is thoroughly modern in style. Yields in the vineyard are limited to enhance fruit concentration and the wine is matured on oak barrels to add suppleness to the palate texture.
Spicy-fruity nose, complex with aromas of cassis, blueberry, vanilla, spices. Ruby robe, very strong, bright with garnet shades.

    Chateau Bois Chantant Bordeaux 2012
    France
Owned by the Helfrich family and located on the right bank of the Gironde, Chateau Bois Chantant enjoys an exceptional terroir. This vineyard has 41 hectares of vines aged about 20 years which has consistently formed the basis for fantastic wines with an aromatic expression. To this is the added mastery of the traditional but also innovative "winemaker" of this property, Vincent Cachau. Overall custodian and godmother of the current vintage, Laurence Helfrich, of the Helfrich Family, is truly passionate and proud of this intimate and prestigious wine.
Combining Merlot (90%) for colour and roundness and Cabernet Sauvignon (10%) for fruit and power, Vincent has created a wine that truly reflects the flavours and passion of this family owned Chateau.

    Chateau Cap L'Ousteau Bordeaux 2010
    France
Located near MARGAUX , the Chateau Cap L'Ousteau enjoys a typical Medoc gravel terroir. This terroir is combined with well-equilibrated grape varieties : Merlot for the colour and the roundness of Cabernet Franc for the fruit and the finesse, and Petit Verdot for the structure. Barrels growing sublime the quality and the personality of this cru.
Purple robe, very strong, bright with shades of pink. Complex nose, spicy, persistent with aromas of cherry, caramel soft palate, balanced with notes of red fruit jam, prune.
