    Description

Based on the bestseller by Stephen E. Ambrose, the epic 10-part miniseries Band of Brothers tells the story of Easy Company, 506th Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division, U.S. Army. Drawn from interviews with survivors of Easy Company, as well as soldiers' journals and letters, Band of Brothers chronicles the experiences of these men who knew extraordinary bravery and extraordinary fear. They were an elite rifle company parachuting into France early on D-Day morning, fighting in the Battle of the Bulge and capturing Hitler's Eagle's Nest at Berchtesgaden. They were also a unit that suffered 150 percent casualties, and whose lives became legend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by 2 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by A great retelling of the Airborne US point Of View A very good story of a group of men training to be paratroopers for the Easy company of the airborne division during World War II. It tells the true life experiences of troopers (being interviewed before the drama begins to give an incite before the start) who are sent to Europe. There is the training in the USA, then maneuvers in Southern England before D-Day and the whole experience of flying and jumping and then fighting during those early days. It then follows the various people throughout the war which includes Arnhem and Battle of the Bulge and ends with the life after the war and some good documentaries. All in all very informative and very good drama too. With some British Actors and some famous US ones too, it is well written and there is a bit of camera shake for atmosphere. If you like Saving Private Ryan, you will love this with more effects being more real than the Ryan bits. 01 October 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Band Of Brothers I brought this for my brother in law for his birthday. He loved it. 12 May 2012
